THEORETICALY anything can happen but practicaly its not true . The things that can happen are very much designated by what has happened in the past and by ..... physics .

And its irelevant how many people believe as hard as they can ........ santa doesnt exist .

^ Yes.

I was trying to go a bit further than the biological, chemical and physical--apart from the fact that those things are our social creations--limits. They very much exist yes, but, I was speaking of the problem of choice, individually, and socially, the problem of communication. Biological, chemical and physical limits do not determined the whole, they produce the theater in which a lot of different things may happen.

This human charade, as a species, may well just be suited for mass suicide. My personal cut is that it is, in the land of the late historical experience of imperialism, often called capitalism and progress.

It is a question whether we will make it out of this one. In regards to this, anything can happen because we play a board in which its conditions are not entirely determined--there is, as you adequately put, space-time considerations to be taken into account. It's a bet, the value of what we risk, determined IMO in what decisions are we to produce in our existence as social beings.

And the current social arrangement is of human crops, automatons, and the empire.

...Remember this is my severely distorted view.

If you believe humans 'create' reality in their own psyche... You are only true as far as the extent of the senses and feelings. Everything else outside of that is explainable by laws of science. Thus, we can make the world end, but only for one's self. . . Paradoxes quickly follow.

If you believe humans 'create' reality in their own psyche

Where did I say that? I am not talking solipsism here. I am talking about the fact that we build cities, we rear our young, we create myths, we imagine the tools we call scientific laws, I am talking about what happens in the platform on top of the physical limit, the culture creature.

I am taking about industry, economics, politics, social determinants. The language matrix, at the utmost end of the material espectrum, the thing you consume when you communicate, when you listen to music, when you eat your food.

The world was very different two thousand years ago, when we had no concrete or internet or penicilin. Those things are ruled by "physical law" but don't ever lose sight of the fact that it's not "physical law" using them to produce more reality, rather a bipede mammal with binocular vision that thinks he thinks.

I have heard some things from Terence that were very rational and reasonable, and I am aware of some outrageous things from him too....but some of the things he was saying, I can't recall anyone else saying at the time.....give him credit for inspiring a lot of people to explore areas that were esoteric and mysterious. What's wrong with that?

Exactly! The impact and inspiration has been enormous.

Someone who takes everything as truth is himself responsible for this, not the person presenting his ideas....

I really love Mckenna and it's a pity he already passed away :(

I think its wonderfully amusing how some people dont read posts and then start changeing the subject and defending their heros .

Jesus , what the fuck !!! Do you think we are blind and stupid ? Nomada made a post then you quote the whole post in the following post !!! WHY ? There was no point at all and its a pain .

I don't understand why you use these examples/comparisons. They just make no sense at all.
Terence wrote books, he did not make jeans. Or produced psy trance.

Terence Mckenna isn't some kind of saint.. Maybe he got more into the main stream with the rise of the Internet. Maybe he becomes some kind of weird role model for young people.
But does that make him a terrorist.

Personally I think Mckenna,s approach to psychedelics is way better then taking psychedelics at party's and in big crowds. I don't think it's that negative if people follow his approach.

I don't think there ever will be a religion around Mckenna. I don't know people who follow his ideas as some sort of dogma. I don't see that happening.

I don't understand either, which is why I want to know what he considers a terrorist.

In my book, wacky ideas don't make you a terrorist, you want MY definition of a terrorist?

Dick Cheney.

But that's another thread....

GOD- You know that it is human nature to idolize. This tendency is as old as man himself. It's caused us a lot of trouble, too......people are always going to do it....

Before Terence, it was Tim Leary, whose detractors said a lot of the same things I hear being said about McKenna, and before Leary it was someone else, be it Mohammed, Buddha, Jesus, etc....

The fault is within US, not in some crazy guys subversive ideas.

We are conditioned to be FOLLOWERS from the time we begin to think......this is why we always gravitate towards some charismatic figure with new ideas....it is almost hardwired into us.

And really, I think what Terence was saying was no more fantastic than what some of those others said, its just that Terence was in the here and now, in modern reality, and his ideas reflected a radical future-shift which encompassed and embraced technology while still trying to understand our emotional and neorological monkey-circuitry.

It's not Terence, it's

'Humanus ut insisto'

I agree. Concurrently it'd be interesting if GOD elaborates where he has gotten the indication from that worshipping Terence has gone above the highest part of the upper deck.

Where? Who?

"GOD- What is your definition of a terrorist?"

People who spread terror . Looking at the world that would mean all governments , some police , some judges , some prosecuters , some "religeous" fanatics and a some crazy people .

I want to add to my last post .

People who blackmail others , people who take and use slaves , people who hurt , use and abuse others .

My definition of terror ? For instance when someone is forced to do things through violence or threats or mobbing . They are being terrorised by a terrorist and are in terror . I`m quite suprised that you ask that . I think that if we all think about what would wake terror in us or others we would agree , or at least i hope so . For me being a terrorist must have something to do with causeing rational fears in others and it would have to have something to do with it beig unnesesery .3 examples . All the foreign soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan and their bosses are terrorists . The people who are responsible for the holocaust in Palastine are terrorists . The brave freedom fighters that defend themselves in those countrys and those that hit back at the US on 119 are not . They didnt start it , they didnt , so to say define the rules of the game ( terror ) that is being inflicted on them , their familys , their homes and their countrys . They just used the tactics that the terrorists are useing against them to reply to the terrorists .

I dont want us to get bogged down in to much defineing words like those . I understand why you asked but it doesnt realy have anything to do with what i have said , why i said it , what i ment and what i wanted to achieve by what i said . .......... except it made you think and ask questions......... ( as Spice said , its better to get people thinking and understanding for themselves than to stuff facts down their throats...... ( A bit like if you give people things they dont respect them , dont learn from them and dont understand . People that have to earn things and think for themselves do )) .) .

Dick Cheney = Terrance McKenna.

Discuss.

Do you realy think that ? If so why ?
