    Cheap vapourizer + smoke alarm?

Gonna be taking a quick vacation to the Netherlands soon and I'm thinking this time I'll try buying one of those cheap vapes like this: With there being no smoke, in theory, will it set off the smoke alarm in the hotel room? P.S. If anyone can recommend a shop in Amsterdam which sell these...

Play tetris after a bad trip

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7813637.stm Based on this news report it might be an idea to try playing a little tetris if you've had a bad trip and you're shook up. Some people are of the opinion you need to go through bad trips but all the same it's something to bear in mind :)

    Almost had a lucid dream...

I will second that 'The Sandman' is an excellent comic book series. Very readable but with layers of literary content to make it really engaging. Buy the first couple of trade paperbacks and see if it hooks you. If it does you'll end up reading them all.

    I regret what I said...

That girl needs to get over herself, I wouldn't worry too much about your end of the matter aside from maybe considering a little tact next time. Someone she likes and is dating SAID they loved her, note that's SAID and not necessarily actually does. Boo fuckin hoo, what a nightmare world she...

Amsterdam to close many brothels, marijuana cafes

Genuinely depressing news. For some reason I'd always taken comfort in that even when the bullshit anti-drug laws pile up elsewhere there'd always be Holland. Looks like I was taking even that small comfort for granted.

    BZP now illegal in Canada

This is depressing trend that seems to emerging. People think all they have to do is find legal alternatives to the illegal drugs, but as we're seeing time and time again: if the drug works then once it gains enough mainstream attention (as is happening with salvia) then it will end up being...

Video (with subtitles) about ban on shrooms

I've got to say this mushroom ban along with some coffee shops apparently being closed is very disappointing. I've always thought of Amsterdam and Holland as one of the few safehavens of freedom in the world, feels like I'm entering Burrough's Interzone as I arrive and see all the coffee shops...

    neurosis and drugs

This is just my opinion and based on my own experiences but your problem with lack of friends/inability to make friends is something you are going to have to face and overcome. You can try and run away from it, distract yourself from it or any number of actions which will not change the problem...

    Shizophrania and drug use

Cannabis and meditation are the easiest for most of us to recommend since a little of either on a semi-regular basis isn't likely to do anything overly drastic to you. You can kind of figure your way through it and gradually test the boundaries. Psychedelics are so variable, you never 100%...

    neurosis and drugs

I can only speak for myself but there's always a point to living, it's just finding it at any given time. Even when you're at your lowest low, you're torn to shreds by the world and everything you thought was one way. Somehow even in that dark place if you look hard enough you can find a...

A man named Haddaway had an interesting philosophy on this...

UK overrules scientific advice re classifying cannabis

It's kind of crazy that these recommendations come from the government's own appointed people, you could at least understand it if their people said it was really really dangerous and just non-government scientists thought it should stay class C.

    This Goddess and the Occultocracy

So unless we agree entirely with your HIGHLY subjective interpretation of the symbols on the dollar bill then we are for slavery, starvation, the death of children and the extinction of entire species? Your implication sounds just as dogmatic as any religious fanatic. I'm actually quite...

Never had an open-eye visual hallucination

Ok thanks for the advice guys. I think salvia is something I will look into in the future, I'm just a little concerned in as much as when I read trip reports or watch videos of people doing it they seem to be almost completely out of it at times. This is a concern for me since I always do...

Seeking Advice: Shrooms, Anxiety, Digestive Upset, and Weed

drugless makes a good point: even though these moments of anxiety only began for me after mushroom use I don't entirely attribute them to the drug itself. My current model for thinking about it is to consider the drug a catalyst for whatever turmoil was already within me, perhaps tightly locked...

Seeking Advice: Shrooms, Anxiety, Digestive Upset, and Weed

I've responded to the OP by PM but in case this helps someone else out here's my response: I've had a very similar experience in that I had a really bad high dose mushroom trip, then a few months later I tried to trip but on a much smaller dose thinking I would avoid those problems. Even...

Being Hasty, Wrong, ¿Ignorant? to learn about oneself.

If you mean conversations out loud then sure I have that scenario. I can never seem to articulate myself verbally as well as I can internally. A big thing that has helped me is that I am also a writer and my work revoles around that, so over the years I have gotten good at articulating myself...

Never had an open-eye visual hallucination

This is a topic I've never had a chance to speak to non-recreational hallucinogen users about: I've never had an open-eye visual hallucination. When I read the many trip reports I've read or I look at famous authors's experiences on psilocybin there seem to be a wide range of effects on...

The Real Life Matrix - A very controversial thread

My favourite philosopher when it comes to these kinds of big question topics is Robert Anton Wilson since he really explained the idea of having a number of models for everything and not forcing yourself to buy into or believe one or the other. I've done quite a lot of research into different...

    Almost had a lucid dream...

Just reading about lucid dreaming has caused me to have dreams of varying ludicity increasingly since that time. I haven't practiced any of the techniques or implemented them yet as I have other areas of my life I'm still working on at the moment. They happen to me without any warning and I...
