Using Hydrogel

Can we use hydrogel instead of vermiculate?
One more question, what is the difference between using vermiculate and perlite?

What are you tryin' to use these in?? A substrate or what??

they are small balls. when you put them in water, after 18 hours their volume will increase 100 times and become a gel with all nutritients ready for flowers. i asked to some profs in my university and they told me that hydrogel is fine for flowers but not for mushrooms.

I absolutely agree.

Also, vermiculite is used in the substrate..and perlite is used as part/all of the humidification.
