Tor: opinions/feedback?

I've read some about it, especially in connection to the S1lk R0ad and all the interesting things around that. Haven't gotten myself to actually really jump into the matter or get it myself, though, as I figured that you need to know and maintain the whole process for it to have any and all effect. Anyone?

Well I think its very easy to use, I'm just too lazy to read about it.

Install it, start it. It will set up a new firefox window which will be operating through another IP other than your own. Not sure if you can download things, or whats up with that kind of stuff, but if you shut off all java scripts, turn on HTTPS everywhere you should be fairly safe.
