hey everyone gettin my hands on an oz of shrooms tonight to last me through the winter and probably into the spring well my friend and I so we'll see how long they last :P but i had a question about tea if I were to make tea say on thursday and wasnt planning on dirnking it till friday would it be alright to reheat the tea the next day to make it more tasty? or would that destroy the psilocybin? also Ive never made tea before but ive read some recipes what happens if you leave the shrooms steeping too long?

Just keep it safe and wait for making the tea on friday.
It doesn't take long to make the tea.
When the shrooms steep to long, the active compounds will vanish.

Tea can be kept almost forever if you freeze it in an airtight container. The potency may drop a little, though, especially when the tea is still warm and during reheating. I would suggest to make the tea on the day of the trip. If you somehow cannot make the tea on that day (i.e. you are planning to go into the woods on thursday and camp overnight, trip on friday or something), I suggest to keep it as cool as possible.

i'd suggest making a small amount of concentrated tea and drink it at once, cold

short pain for a good cause :P

Some advice: keep your tea cold.
I've ones made some tea and had it standing in my bedroom during a summer night, the following day the tea had no effect :?

i just don't really believe in mushroom tea because

1. temperatures above 40°C are bad for psilocin/cybin
2. i have my doubts about psilocin/cybin being very water-soluble (of course some lemon juice helps here to make an emulsion)

i'd say dry your shrooms till you can make dry mushroom powder, get some water around 40°C - 50°C, add lemon juice (plenty) and throw in the powder, stir a while and drink it.

i guess this way is quite potency-loss proof.

store the powder/dried shrooms in the freezer in an airtight bag. (i put them in a small ziplock bag, and put that bag in another bigger ziplock bag.)

Psilocybin is a relatively stable chemical . The recepies for exreacting it all call for temperatures over 40°C , but you are right , to hot for to long is not good for it . Look at the PF site and you will see what i am talking about . It should not be boiling water , it should be steeped in hot water and then alowed to cool to drinking temperature . The psilocybin in the mushrooms goes into solution with water very easily , the Psilocin is less stabile and in the cells and needs longer to extract . Making mushroom teas has been proved to be about the best , fastest and strongest ways of consuming their hallucinogenic contents . I have done it LOTS of times and also tried to get high on the leftover mushrooms a few days later and it doesnt work = the contents were extracted by the tea . Ading acids to it is not nesecery and can lead to stomach problems . One of the reasons for making a tea is so that you dont have to eat the bulk of the powdered mushrooms wich is realy YUK !!!!

What you said about storage is right acording to all the information in all the books i have ever seen .

GOD a dit:

and according to the mushrooms in my freezer

That worked out just fine for me too.

About the tea, I always keep the water on a low fire with the shrooms in it for about 20 minutes, and that always does the trick.

i got them out of my freezer now, they were becoming soft again (must be the humidity). i had to throw away some black parts, not much though...
So i dried them (again) and grinded them.

i let the powder dry for 20min, put it in a ziplock bag, that bag into another bag, and that one in a small stashbox and that box into a drawer.

forget about the freezer, just keep them dry

Take 7g cubensis, cut them to little pieces, make a tea of it (80-90°C water), let it steep for a few minutes, drink it. Come back here in two hours and tell me if you still think the psilocybin has been destroyed. And don't tell me you are busy because the glowing lizard is telling you to join forces with the hawk spirit ;)

Seriously, tea works like hell if you take enough shrooms in the beginning (and it won't weaken the shrooms, only make them hit you faster and stronger)

Shroomtea makes the peak hit you faster, more intense, shorter lived.

take a good looking full cap about 1 to 1-1/2 inches in diameter, crush it up over a mug into a tea strainer, boil some water, let water sit until not boiling for 3 minutes or so, then put the mushroom filled strainer in the water to steep for about 20 mins, drink the tea, then eat the reconstituted mushroom bits from the strainer. My guess would be psilocybin is a delicate chemical and has a relatively short half life, so use only what you are going to take right then. and an oz wont last you all winter. me and 2 friends killed 1/2 oz in 30 hours haha

1/2 ounce (= 15 grams) dried cubensis is three good trips for me (or two very good ones). Depends on how often you want to trip through winter. I guess if you divide it into two trips, then you will need a few weeks to recover ;)

I'm not so sure about mushroom tea anymore. I agree it works, and is much more pleasant (no stomach discomfort), but I've still experienced (or I think I have) that one needs a higher dose of mushrooms to get the same effect.
