Binaural beat frequencies

Not the best sources, I know, but I've read this other places too, one of them being Erowid (can't find it now though). Anyone have an experience with it, or any idea why/how/if it works?

I tried them once. I can't say if they exactly work or not. I think closing your eyes, lying down and focusing on ANYthing would probably do something if you concentrate enough.

After practising this for a while I had myself convinced that I had developed a sense of which of my hemispheres was more active. I'm skeptical now. Did it work or am I just gullible?

Bullshit or not I found this alot more interesting than the binaural beats themselves. Anyone checked this out?
