I'm seeing a lot of gross generalizing by people on this board that are anti the things in the topic among others.

Personally I have absolutely no problem with any of them.

I find many of them quite helpful from day to day.

I do not feel 'trapped' or 'imprisoned' and I AM aware and AM open and HAVE seen the other side.

Just because you cant cope, or done like, or get freaked out over those things doesnt meant everyone else has to or needs to or even should.

Personally I like mass media. I find it rather amusing watching Fox News. I am not stupid enough to believe everything they say yet people who bash it tend to think that I am just because I watch it. You watched it or you wouldnt know what it was (and if you didnt then your blindly bashing on someone elses ignorance and have developed ignorance of yoru own) and YOU werent stupid enough. Does that mean there are other people who might actually watch it because they WANT TO for OTHER reasons then to rant and rave about how awesome Oreily Factor is?

Personally I like big business corporate america. I like having the internet and cheep/easy food on my table. I like being able to drive a cheesy inexpensive car and run around to gas stations and get cheap and easy food for fun. I have no problems with that.

Personally I am not scared of big money and what big money is doing to america. I have access to big money and I am glad that its around. No not in the millions but why would I give that up? If you dont. Then I'm sorry if you feel like I am an ass for liking it but guess what. I do.

So anyway. I wrote this because I am getting tired but more importantly bored with the general anti-(these things) conversations. So if you see me ignoring your responses this is why. If I respond its because I had nothing better to do probably.

I will do my best not to flame for any reason. You have your opinions and you have your right to your opinions as I have mine. I happen to like society the way it is. I have found a way to live comfortably inside it while still maintaining an open and happy mind. The way of Tao is to exist peacefully in all things. If I go around freakin out over every last penny someone else makes and why they shouldnt be making it I have lost my way.

To each his own. Get used to the fact that there are people who really have no problems eating large amounts of beef from slaughtered cows and factory grown tomatoes or whatever. It just does not bother me. It is it what it is and spending too much time focusing on how to change everyone and everything else is just spinning wheels when you could be changing yourself.

See! I can rant and rave in long drawn out repetitive sentences coalescing large amounts of the same themed items and inflammatory words to incite a response! LOL!

hmmm I have no problem with any of those things on their own. The problem I have is they way they tend to get involved in politics thereby influencing what is supposed to be representative democracy such that the democracy becomes representative of big business.

Ahh but see thats the typical cliche response to people who dont like it.

All I ever see is the same excuses over and over again usually (dont know your situation) by people who cant play or have failed at playing it. Like I said somewhere. I had a friend in college who was all into the whole drug pseudo-hippy vegan counter culture and thats great and all but he also had hundreds of thousands of dollars every year at his disposal and millions coming when he graduated so he had no problem just buying a turntable and sound gear cuz he felt like it. Or picking out a new mini van to move stuff around in. Building some huge elaborate project for burning man.

The question is. If someone handed you a signed check saying here is 1,000,000 dollars tax free credit free. Could you REALLY turn it down and say "no thank you" I dont want to contribute to The Man. Because as soon as you accept even one piece of hard currency your feeding into The Man's pockets because money is printed now adays. Its not even backed by gold anymore. Governments just print more when they feel like it. (I'm not joking. Google it.)

Every time anyone accepts one piece of hard currency they contribute to the conglomeracy of The Man. So if you REALLY want to avoid interacting with big business. If you REALLY want to stand behind your convictions you have to go to an all barter system cuz ever piece of hard currency in the world is based off of big business somewhere short of the wampum equivolent in some south african nations or whatever.

Well.. Good point. I would respond atypically but I'm not poor and living in squalor. Those citizens don't usually have Mac's or Toshiba's to communicate with or a roof for that matter. They have no voice in this media but if you would like to speak with them and engage in a friendly debate I'm almost certain you know where to go, but I doubt someone of your opulence would find comfort in the situation Swanks.

Actually no I have no problem with it. I used to hangout with homeless people all the time in college. They are just like every body else just different life situation. You dont want to go and wear fancy clothing and take an expensive cellphone but thats considered an attractive nuisance and just plain rude in my opinion.

People are in lots of situations for lots of reasons no system is going to work for everyone. My mom is a social worker and has to deal with the downtrodden so to speak on multiple fronts very frequently and she tells me that most of the homeless and lower income families have some sort of mental illness involved in their lives. It may not be talk to cats or invisible aliens type but it can be things such as alcoholism or drug abuse (as opposed to use like most people on here, self control sort of thing, get up the next day and go to work).

I can go on but my point is the fact that is that this system doesnt fail any more or less then any other system when it comes to the extremes. Its just people tend to want to look at the extremes and then blame the system when they dont look at the extremes in other 'better' systems as they would call them and see they are just as bad.

Very true. Every country has it's problems, especially eastern europe where the government officials are blatantly corrupt. I'll be the first to say that we Americans as a people in general are spoiled brats, under educated, over caffeinated and unworldly as all get out. By no means are we perfect and perfection itself is unattainable but that doesn't mean we should stop striving for it.

I know we can be better to each other if we can stimulate each others minds enough and evoke thought for more compromise that compounds to evolve our minds towards preservation of our rock ball and our species with out stepping on each others toes. No more competition because if any one group of anything on this ship wins we will all lose.

You won't see any of their names in Forbes or as the head of the board of a fortune 500 company. These people are so wealthy that their homes are entire facilities or compounds where they never truly have to leave. 

Each politician is but a pawn or army of pawns put in place to make us believe that we are truly being represented. Every political decision that is made, whether for action or inaction for or against anything, is made for capitalistic purposes.

Every commercial program, concert, music video, and movie, exist only to change or reinforce your opinions of something, someplace or someone. Every product you think you want is because of them. 

Every capitalist product that exist today is because of them or their ancestors and that is why they are so rich. Capitalistic greed is the reason there are no cures for many diseases. No free food. And no free energy.

Everything is monitored or recorded. Down to the last line of computer code. Down to the every murmur of digital phone conversation. They know every move. They see every action. Everything that has happened is because they've allowed it to happen....

Most of the world will never get to even touch something worth a million dollars in their lives. These people wipe their ass with stuff worth that much.

These people will never know what it's like to be thirsty. Never know what being hungry is. And never even have so much as a pimple.

Everything we think or do is because they've influenced it. Everything we know is because they have allowed us to know. Everything we have is because they allow us to have it.

Drugs do anything but make you more intelligent. Intelligence has nothing to do with it.

They make you see the world differently and to greater or lesser degrees and in different ways depending on the drug.

Heroine, alcohol, cocain, morphine, caffeine, even sugar, are all technically drugs. Dont know too many people who would go up on an IQ test high as a kite on heroine.

Some psychedelics increase your awareness of certain stimuli but that doesnt make you more intelligent. Just more perceptive. Today I did 7g of Amanita Muscaria, a psychedelic mushroom, and all it did was make me want to crawl in a hole and go to sleep. I wouldnt have been able to hold a pencil let alone go up on an IQ test.

No. Drugs dont make you smarter and thats almost a 'stupid statement' to boot but one that clearly falls into the 'drug propaganda' department that is in the war between drug and anti-drug people.

i dont know about making you smarter but it certainly give you the opportunity to view things from entirely new perspectives

i think the people who do psychedelics (im assuming thats the kind of 'drug' you meant) are generally already the kind of people who understand certain aspects of life etc.
i mean, as an example you will often see very stupid people on crack or heroin, this is possibly because they didnt have the intelligence to make better life decisions i dont know
however its not anywhere near as often that you will meet someone who you would consider stupid who does acid or mushrooms etc.

i think its more of a predisposition rather than the drugs making one smarter

i know of some people who take it strictly as a party drug who are just as in the dark now as they always were
im sure during a trip they would have introspective moments etc. but would probably just blow it off as "wow this is some good shit! im tripping balls right now!"
without considering that its actually their mind doing all the work, the drug just opens some previously unseen pathways

Its like an old somewhat offensive joke my dad used to say before he got saved:

"Remember! You can lead a Whore-To-Culture but you cant make her think!"

No matter how smart or stupid someone is before they do any type of drugs they will be just that smart and depending on brain damage sometimes a little more stupid afterwards.

The soldiers are doing what they get paid to do either knowingly because they are murderers or for ideals that they believe in based on propaganda that the machine has fed them. They are nothing but bullets in a huge belt-fed gun, the ammunition only ends when people wake up.

Lol! yea my cousin is just like that. All he can think about is ass or the walls melting. I even attempted to stimulate his mind by posing questions. I believe his words were, "man, I don't wanna think about that bullshit right now!". Maybe those are the people that get stuck on the things they see but don't trouble themselves trying to decipher anything. I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse that some of us take this direction instead of that. I would rather learn something from an experience though. Not just how hard I can trip.

Iersuko its very draining trying to read your posts because they are 90% propaganda drug war hype in favor of drugs. They are mostly ill founded/ungrounded and try to capatalize on emotions more then logic and reason yet trying to pass themselves off as reason.

You can believe whatever you like about whatever you like and I apreciate that but its just too tedious for me to read what you write and try and sift through all the blith and blather and get at what you really wish you could say but dont feel you can truly say it and not be judged.

So no offense but I am mostly ignoring you most of the time now. I dont really feel we have much to say to each other and I feel that my time is better spent elsewhere and I am less likely to 'get into a fight' over something trivial that your trying to blow up into this big deal.

Nothing personal. You have your rights to think what you wanna think as much as I have mine but one of the things they teach in psychology courses is you need to know which people you can and cant talk to to keep from clashing in ways that are unhealthy for the environment.

Your just using way too many hot button words in an attempt to get a rise out of me and I am getting tired and bored at trying to ignore them and see what your really trying to say behind the hype.
