Antioxidants are nutrients that prevent the oxidation of the body from oxidative stress. Antioxidants are produced in the body in small amounts to fight oxidative stress. It was all balanced out in the past. Oxidative stress can cause damage to the brain and body over time. We are now faced with genetically modified organics, steroids and groth hormones in the meat, polluted air, lack of fiber, increased levels of radiation, stress, improper sleep, depression, fear, toxins, an improper diet lacking fruits vegetables and essential nutrients, a sedentary lifestyle, ect. Fruits like blackberries have antioxidants. Sesame seeds have sesamin, sesamolin, and sesamol. Sesamol is one of the most powerful antioxidants, yet most of us don't consume it. Sesamol can also protect us from mild radiation. It fights free radicals, is neuroprotective, and can help prevent cancer. Sesame seeds and sesame seed oil are good. I'm surprised at how underrated it is. It's also shocking that demand for sesamol and sesame seeds contine to drop as we grow less and less of it. We import more than we grow. Part of a healthy diet. Why is healthy foods so much more expensive than unhealthy food? Why?
