Mika, Relax, Take it easy
i think this is a very trippy song
It seems like he took a strong dose of DMT and the video is very DMTish.

post your comments :D

A quick google scan could not help me with a year of release.

It has a kind of 80' feel to it, but trippy nonetheless.

And you're right, the real thing is better..but I think trippy art and music videos can prepare people to be open for the real thing, or at least not to be condemning anymore.

I don't know what I think about this guy, really. I'd enjoy him but his songs really, really sound like other peoples' music too much... like if he took bits of other music and used it. And I like MASH-UPs, E.C.C., Devo, all that.

Like his song Big Girls is too much like Queen's Big Bottom Girls. I'm just not sure how to feel just yet in this world of Dane Crooks, and Carlos Menstealias

the video was really cool. i had to watch it on mute after about 20 seconds.
he reminded me to much of leif garret in the 70's.

Mika is a lebanese/british singer songwriter and i like it alot, cd = life in cartoon motion. Nice songs on it, and yeah he sounds alot like queen with some electric stuff mixed in. Nothing wrong with that though imo, in the netherlands we say beter goed gejat dan slecht zelf gemaakt. Something like rather steal someone elses good style than create a bad one yourself :p

I dig it, thank you for posting this! What an amazingly tripped out visual and good music to sync. The entire album Life in Cartoon Motion is as enjoyable and 'tripped out' as this individual song, Relax, Take it Easy. anyways i ramble...no experience with DMT with which to say its relation to the video but other psychedelic experiences have granted me perception of the many depths and inclusions of the art in this 'music video' as they are oddly called.

More on Mika here:
"Pop magpie Mika's bright, kaleidoscopic music has drawn comparisons to everyone from Queen and Elton John to the Scissor Sisters and Rufus Wainwright." Allmusic Biography

A few days ago I listened to the radio and heard the song twice in one morning. On YouTube I read the video was made by his sister.
