To space: since you have al the requirements for the extraction right know, you can start extracting(if you haven't started already). Let us know how it went and what went wrong etc... and most importantly how the experience was!

And a small tip, i'd smoke it with cannabis, cause somehow it doesn't really affect me that much if smoked alone(there is a definite buzz though, but more mild than with cannabis).

And for all of you who can't get their hands on some high proof alcohol, there is even another way! A simple water extraction: just make tea out of the wormwood and evaporate the water. The result is however far less concentrated. I've done the last extraction once too, but I haven't been able to thoroughly experiment with it.

Yes this odorous herb sure has some potentials!

Edit* It's already obvious that this is gonna take some time to evaporate....

Edit* Ok the goodies were in a flask where I only left off the cap, I've just cut off the top to see if the ethanol evaporates a bit quicker.
It's obvious that small amounts are better to extract.

300ml of ethanol is a lot to evaporate. I could do it au bain maire, but I don't like the thought of a fire near ethanol and at the moment I haven't got an electric stove.

I actually wanted to do 30ml just to test it out, but me being stupid and all wanted to do as much as possible, so I ended up doing the 300 ml in one time, still leaving some space in the liquid. So I have the idea that I could have put in a lot more wormwood, but hell, let's see what this batch does.

Thinking of it, it might be a better plan to put it in a pan, so the surface is bigger and a lot more can evaporate at the same time...

Ok after putting it in a the box from my last growkit it began to evaporate faster, it still is gonna take some time, but I have been patient thus far

did I understand that right? I just have to poor the alcohol (I have isopropanol at home, does it work with this one?) onto that stuff, shake it from time to time and let the alcohol evaporate? don't I have to remove the plant material?

That looks to have other additives included, I'd get straight wormwood (artemesia absinthium) if you're trying to do this.

Man, are you insane, 15 bucks for pound of leaf Artemesia absinthium???? In herbal stores in Croatia you can have 100 grams for 1,4 € (euro). I would like (and love) to pay 15$ but only if that would be pound of Artems-Absinthium flowers wich are picked before they are fully opened (flowers have the best, and the most concentrated Thujon percent in it, and leafes are nothing, nothing compared with flowers., instead flowers in todays ABSINTH is replaced with leafes and this is the main reasone why todays drink bearly contains any Thujone. FOR IMFO TO THE ALL OFF US! ) And Space-Place sad that he could not buy-or find 95% proof alcohol. Is this something that is law binded in Holland or did you ever try to look for pure ethanol in 100m square store.In Croatia even smaller stores sells it in liter bottle for 10€ (euro)??

I bought some artemisia absynthium. Pretty cheap here (1.9/100g e) but the herborist had only 70 g left.
I made it soaking in 400 ml of 90% alcohol for 3 hours in hot alcohol, then 3 days more at room temp.
The alcohol was slowly evaporated and a very small amount of oily dark green goo was left (less than 3 ml). I putted some 'neutral' leaves with it and dried the whole mix.
Well, I just smoked a very tiny bit of that hash in a bong . There may be a very very mild buzz with a slight headaches but it could be a placebo effect. I'll try more later, I just want to wait and see in what state will be my throat tomorrow because the smoke is rather pleasant but a bit harsh (I am not a smoker).
I also try with some pot in case of...

First from where and how word 'THUGE' come? :wink:

Eating-drinking this can be done but be careful. Oil-thuge is highly poisonous.
Of course, it is essence, and extracted aromatic oil of the plant.
Bitterness can, plus poisonous properties, produce muriatric acid from yours stomach in high concentration(no wonders what can HCl do to body and especially to mouth and trout). And third, histamine rush in two second can make yours trout shrink and you will die from suffocation or from shock induced from histamine(I have experienced once this, and that was one, of my maybe eight, mine near death or horror experiences).
Be extra careful!!!

P.S. Thujone can seriously damage liver, of course for couple of weeks and other drugs,fats,other food ingredients would not be normal metabolised, and then 'real liver damage can occur' Be good and have nice holidays. 8)

i mean shit death is just part of life but i still would rather not be poisoned again.

could mugwort be used it does share some of the same chemicals.
