I think the urge to try to know as much as possible is in the human nature. If you see it from the evolutionary side, it makes sense. I think it is not good to suppress our nature, it never has been good.
This was exactly what I said.
My thought is: Shouldn't we put a break on our ambition (and by this I mean, we are always trying to control everything or know everything), or slow it down for some time? Well the reasons are obvious. First, because of earth degradation and secondly for us (every life form that we know)? I think we should. And you don't need to think too much to get this conclusion.
I know we could study astronomy and still live in a almost "paradise" world, if it weren't for our greed. But that's my point, we should try to find a balance before feeding our ambition even more.
And we are the most unbalanced "thing" on earth. I hope you don't need examples. But i'll just to shoot one that I consider Hilarious: look at technology. If we were in balance, my grand-mother would understand as much about computers or, I don't know technology in general, as I do (and I don't understand that much).
My point is, if we were actually in balance we should all benefit from the reflection of our ambition. Wich, more than half of humanity aren't benefiting At All.
Knowing more isn't bad. Never was. That's our nature. But when it comes to balance things, we can't have any discussion. We are unbalanced. And we are destroying ourselfs and every other life forms (on earth). And what right do we have on doing that, just because we "need" to feed our ambition?
Anyway, I accept the "stage" we're at. Not that I agree with it, but I accept it. That's why I feel more at Home after seeing that.
