Here is a text from a flyer I received today. It is originally in German and I translated it...
"Our kids are nowadays confronted with various problems and have to learn solving and coping with them.
Because of multiple factors (stress at school or at home, nutritional problems, bad teachers, body problems,...) children and teenagers increasingly show symptoms that are explained by the psychiatry as ADHS,ADS,bipolar disorder, learning disorder, mathematical disorders, disorder of writing,...
Since the middle of he 80's, the psychiatry (and the pharmaindustry) concentrate increasingly on making children and teenagers to be their patients resp. clients. 1987, the APA (American Psychiatry Association) voted the diagnosis ADHS into life. One year later, already 500'000 children were diagnosed with that "disorder". Nowadays, there are worldwide more than 20 million children and teenagers that have been diagnosed my psychiatrists, doctors or psychologists with ADHS or another variety of disorder. The psychiatrial solution therefore is (although there is much talk about alternatives) in over 90% of the cases psychotropic drugs.
The myth of chemical imbalance
The psychiatry justifies the use of psychotropic drugs with the statement, that ADHS is based on a chemical imbalance in the brain. But there is worldwide no single study that proves this theory. Dr. David Kaiser, a well-known psychiatrists, expresses that clearly: "Patients are diagnosed with a chemical imbalance although there are no studies that prove this statement and there are no concrete concepts of how a correct chemical balance should look like"
(...) (a paragraph that states that psychotripic drugs are similar to cocaine)
(...) (a paragraph that states that after dropping the use, the symptoms come back again)
(...) (a paragraph that states that violence is increased because of psychotropic drugs)
The Solution
Undesired or hyperactive behaviour can have many reasons e.g. Allergies, nutritional supplement (Nahrungszusätze?), taking of concrete meds, Environmental poisons, sugar problems, lack of sleep, excessive TV-consumation, lack of sport and possibilities to live out the activity potential, learning problems or simple boredom at lessons because of the high intelligence or creativity of the pupil."
