Little is known about Salvia. We've all heard that. Scientists are still not sure what area of the brain Salvinorum A/B opens up.
Last evening, after taking one bowl of 10x pure Salvia, I was thrown into the usual. What's supremely odd about Salvia is you can either choose to let yourself into the vision, or focus on the real world around you. I am, however not sure about the possibility of the same thing being possible on greater, stronger extracts of Salvinorum A -- After taking the Salvia, I began to thing how it's possible for it to happen.
Scientific evidence suggests that most conscience-altering chemicals work on a sub-conscience level. I believe Salvia acts much like a wedge, allowing the conscience of memory to communicate with the subconscious, which communicates with the normal conscience. I'm not sure how to word it, but the next time you're on Salvia, think to yourself that the human mind is made up of three (or more) consciences. The deepest being memory, the second being the subconscious and the first-- normal conscience. Now, normally these three act as one. And during the state of being awake, only one functions (unless memory is called into play) When you sleep, the dream-state conscience comes into play and allows memory to communicate with the dream world. Salvia separates these three states of conscientious; allowing them to communicate with each other at the same time; hence why so many have described Salvia as 'dreaming while you're awake.'
I wrote down my theory while still feeling the heavy effects of Salvia. I wanted to hang on to the idea so I could reflect upon it the next day. (I have the papers. I may photocopy them and upload them here for a more clearer idea of what was going on in my head while Salvia was doing its thing.)
Again, this is just a theory. I'd like to hear some feedback about this. Perhaps some solid scientific evidence.
One downside of Salvia that I have noticed (other than the possibility of having a bad trip) is you loose memory and ability to form your words. This is actually frighting to me, as I recently heard about an article where a scientist studied Salvia, and found that it impairs the nerve endings in your brain from functioning. I was wondering if there was any earlier record of this available. I'm not sure if it's even true, but I have noticed with myself ditzeyness, a feeling of air-headed(ness). I have yet to note anything else.
