OK, I really negleted to be really sterele when preparing my kit. I noticed that the whole top was pretty much covered with CobWeb mold within about 2 days and had two small green spots maybe about an inch round. I then sprayed them with a mix of 1 teaspoon of 3% hydrogene peroxide and 1 cup of boiled water. The green stopped and the cobweb mold stopped. I have maybe 20 little mushies starting, one is over an inch tall. The kit is now 7 days old. I noticed today, day 7, that the green looks like it might be starting to spread. So what I did was put a knife in a fire till it was red hot for a minute. I let it cool down for about 30 minutes. I cut the two green spots out of the top of the cake. I look at the kit about 1 hour later and the entire top has turned like a blue green color. Is my kit ruined? Any Help would be appreciated.

I know the blue comes naturally from the mushrooms, but usually not until you harvest. I learned from experience that if your cake becomes contaminated, it is useless. If you have any other cakes, get rid of the contaminated one immediately..or you'll start to see the same thing on those cakes.
