that sentence would have worked just as well without the "not"

what is generally being sold as beauty doesn't necessarily equal health, best example are all the anorexic models. the mannequins in shopwindows wouldn't even be able to have children because of their small hip.
of course we want beauty, higher chance of reproduction etc. to see it biologically. but what this man is portraying is a tad uncanny if you ask me.

exactly - the ideals of an anorexic and the vewing of that as beauty is ignorance, as well as the one undergoing anorexia.
