As I posted in another section of the forum I finally got a hold of my first mushrooms Sunday night while vacationing in San Diego. I was with a group of 7 people and we were only able to find 1/8 but we were told it was a strong batch that would be good with 3 people. Since I had been searching for mushrooms and had done the looking around in a new city for them I made sure I was one of the 3 that got to partake in them. The 8th was split pretty evenly (although I made sure I ate all the left over debris in the bag afterwards
) and then we shared a joint before my fellow trippers and I decided to walk down to the beach for the beginning of the trip.
On the 8 block walk to the beach our conversations got goofy and we all began to (for lack of a better word) giggle at little things and I started to notice a pleasant tingling feeling in my body. When we arrived at the beach all I wanted to do was get onto the sand and walk up to the huge black ocean where I was blown away by the sound of the waves and how the white tops of the waves seemed to appear out of the blackness. This was about an hour into the trip and I kind of figured that this euphoric feeling and appreciation for beauty was going to be the highest I got on the trip and I assumed that only eat 1/3 of the 8th wasnt enough to get me to the level I wanted to be at but I soon learned I was wrong.
After a little time at the beach we decided to walk back up through the main street of bars towards the apartment we were staying at and meet up with our non tripping friends at the pizza parlor they went to eat at. The walk was fairly uneventful, and I felt just slightly detached like I had smoked too much weed and didn't want to talk, but all the lights around seemed extremely vibrant.
The pizza parlor was uneventful and just filled with laughing and having fun. On the way back to the apartment I had a second and a half where the combined sound of my friends talking, the cars driving by, and just the background sound of the nighttime city turned into a type of heavy scat-like music with a beat that dissapeared quickly, but I was very excited! I felt like the mushrooms were trying to show me the music of the universe!
At this point I knew I would have a good trip and I trusted the mushrooms to take me on a pleasant ride. More weed was smoked in the apartment and I cracked up at a drunk friend who wasnt tripping and who I couldn't understand and it seemed he didn't understand why I didn't understand him bragging about himself. Then we decided to take a walk to 7-11 to get some cash and some snacks.
It was very dark outside and on the walk I saw the sillhouette of a tree we were approaching and as I got closer I could make out red colors in the leaves and I was very confused as to wether the tree really was blooming red flowers or I was imagining them. I was told they were really there by a friend and I ran to touch these flowers and the weirdest happiest sensation went through my brain that these very red flowers were really there. I can't really describe it but that part of the trip sticks out a lot to me.
The rest of the trip is a little blurry but I stood outside of 7-11 while a couple people walked in and got a little paranoid when a cop pulled into the parking lot but she was just talking on her cell phone and not paying attention to us loitering for 2 minutes doing nothing wrong (I was very paranoid though.) THen I made it back to the house where house music was turned on and I closed my eyes and followed the amazing closed eye visuals I was getting for a couple hours.
I try to meditate as much as possible and try to get to know my inner self seperately from my physical body and mind, and it seemed like once I was laying on the couch with my eyes closed I could very vividly tell the difference between my "self" and my physical body and realm. I was sitting back and watching my mind work, amazed!
After a couple hours I figured out how to open my eyes and everyone in the room was asleep but I couldn't sleep so I decided to try to listen to the Gorillaz and close my eyes more. But after switching the music and shutting my eyes I actually got scared of the way the music turned my trip so after a few songs I got up and switched the music to MGMT, closed my eyes again and smiled at the dancing objects in my brain until I fell asleep.
The next morning I woke up feeling a little hazy but very relaxed and very happy about the trip. I've been reflecting on it for the past couple of days and can not wait until I get the chance to take these magical plants again.
I want to make sure I have enough to take a higher dose next time, atleast a full 8th and go deeper into my head. This was definately an amazing experience.
