(I didn't read all the posts,I'll do that later)

Critisizing society and the whole human being is popular since language exists...But do you know why everyone lives in lies? Because we want it. It is a lot easier to live in a confortable lie, no, it is not only that, it is nearly impossible to live in complete truth. Truth is so large and complicated- we don't need it, all we need is bread and circuses. You can propagade truth to the people (still, how do you know that your truth is real and good?) but they won't listen, because they don't want to. Sad but true.

What you can do is either being a martyr for truth, a Mersault, or you can,as proposed, buy an island or a house near a Fjord or a beach and spend your life there. The other possibilty is to play the game, laugh about the stupid people and have fun-

we all need to step up. being nice and diplomatic about these issues are simply going to get us silenced by the world governments. we need to be stronger and smarter than the governments, sneaking around under the veil of darkness awaiting the time for us, all of us, to stand up and show people the light. prove to them beyond the shadow of a doubt that they have been fed lies, everything has been to instill fear in the people, through fear they control us. now its our turn. reminds me of a great quote, people should never fear their governments, governments should fear the people. it is us who possess the power to change all of this. and it is us, ONLY us who have the ability to see through the shroud of fear and unite the world against its current leaders. only then shall we even have a taste of what TRUE freedom is. and isnt that our purpose.

im going to stop for now... too many run on sentences too long of a rant, let me know if you like the ideas. thanks

"Look at the guy from Virgin Airlines...."

You mean the ultra rich nazi Richard Branson . The one who publicaly told his very underpayed workers that if they complained they would loose their jobs ??? Who do you mean should look at him ? And why ?

"Concerning your life i guess the only one who knows the goddamn truth is you."

I`m not sure about that .........

"i just mean my surrounding is a lie. everybody around me. well not everything and everybody ofcourse." - "Ând i'm talking to BrainEater. Which would have been obvious if you read the post above mine."

Lion , you often come across as if you have big personal problems and blame and resent others . Why dont you start a thread and talk about it ? If you were open and honest i promise that i would do my best to help you in a loving way .

People this is a forum and not a free fighting arena . Lets all cool down a bit please .

my only goal is to travel, meet people and see nature!
i have no problems, i'm ready and almost prepared to leave all behind.

maybe it's subconscious, who knows..

What use is existence if one can’t exist?
Lies can be simple or complex, truth is both yet neither.
But truthfully, the truth is a lie.
So, where am I really?

People aren’t afraid of control,
People fear freedom.
Because fear is control,
And control defines freedom.

Yet we are free to fear.
For fear defines us.

How does one define order without chaos to resist?
How does one experience chaos, without order to oppose?

You cant take reality for granted without granting reality.

For what is truly real?

Peace.

endlessness a dit:
how to change the world?

Here´s what I think..

....

This would be an educational revolution, right?!
I'm all for it, have been thinking exactly like this myself.

It seems big and impossible, to change the world's eductional system, I think it takes generations...I've seen schools in f.e. india and ecuador and those government elementary/secondary schools are literally miles/ages behind the schools we have in the west, going to school basically means sitting down and repeating what the teacher says.

I would be nice to study all the research that has been done so far and see what alternatives like Rudolf Steiner and Montesorri's schools have brought...

Research would be the start I guess...and finding partner institutes and so..there must be a whole lot of them working towards improvement in society in the same way...

Aren't there already a hundred "islands" and sustainable, alternative, semi-independent communities everywhere in the world...?

There is not one that has worked out perfectly, to say the least...but they're still there.

Escapism is attractive.

I didn't know islands where quite that cheap either. Current exchange rates keep up, I have a reasonable chance of being able to get myself one in a relatively short period and although drugs are controlled by international treaties, chances are if you bought and island and did not advertise the fact, didn't invite people for parties, didn't sell it or take it off the island, you would do very well with having a lot of drugs. Especially indoor grows (power permitting of course), I mean, no one will raid you for the sake if it, if you didn't tell anyone they were there.

In fact, hey, I might do that one day but I couldn't lie - it would be completely selfish and it would only help me and a very few people very close to me.

Back on topic though - fixing how things are now. I can't see who said it right now, but whoever said that if we tried to change things we would be the next influence is entirely correct. If we feel so bad about how things are now we can't just up and leave.

The world is not great but it has potential. Masses and masses of potential. All the people have potential as well. We shouldn't discount them.

Good ideas can spread quickly. If I tell 10 people today and they tell 10 people each... I mean, an idea that propagates on this level is unlikely on a person to person level but this is not a person to person age.

Hell, 40 of us could buy an Island with what for some people may be a huge amount of money and the 40 of us would know we found somewhere better... but if 40 of us submitted articles to digg and redit and voted on it within minutes of each other, upwards of 10,000 people would see it within days.

If we could all decide on what to fix first, where to go there - a new manifesto for a new age - we could bring that idea to a huge amount of people and it would snowball.

We need to stand at the mirror and look at ourselves. Hard. I know somewhere I would love to shut the world at large out. I could really do it. That would not help them though.

(Not pushing the religion, just making a joke) It would be like Noah building a boat for one and watching his family drown while shouting "How'd you like me now?". :D

What good is being right if we have to leave everything. We could change it all. We really could.

We just need to decide what to change.

Then we need to throw the idea so far up in the air that people won't see the sun for days while it makes their head spin.

Then while the whole world is watching, we need to act.

I love the idea of an island to live the way we want to! :D

But I think it's not the right way to change all society.
I've read about some left-wing politicians who recognize the useless of the war on drugs.
It's not like entire countries are legalizing drugs, but a fact is that more and more people start to look at drugs in a more rational way. This is a very good development!

I also read about Bolivia legalizing and encouraging the growth and cultivation of coca leaves. That was really something that surprised me, in a positive way.

There are still a lot of (Christian) politicians who prefer to keep people stupid and don't want people to enjoy life the way they want. But it's already changing, but very slowly.

So you say you want a revolution, wellll, y'know... everyone wants to change the world.

The point is you can't really change the world that quickly. Get people thinking and moving along towards less government and more socially sensitive. But first, you have to start with yourself. Be an example. It's the only way.

The hippies did not fail. We have moved in a good direction since their times, though we have stumbled a little. Just keep moving.

The trick is to prevent ANY accidents with any drugs as much as possible, for yourself but also for people around you.
That way they can't point to another drug and say it's bad.

The problem with escapist "free" places is always that they are so free that so much prostitution and crime comes with it, that no really free person wants to live there anymore (maybe go there and party, but not live there).
The best comparison is an apartment-sharing community who always party. It seems like you want to live there, until you realize they always party.
Am I making any sense? Well, if not, just go to Goa, India - you'll have a lot of fun living there I guess ;)
