For antichrist's sake, is there any psychonaut in here that doesn't seek god in his quests? Or someone who has had several experiences and didn't ever encounter god?

Even more, isn't there an atheist psychonaut anywhere? or even more, doesn't some explorer exists that his experiences with psychoactives / psychdelics not only didn't reveal god, but helped explain the world and universe and this simple explanation didn't need a god and will never do?

==============

And one question for those that do associate with god in their quests, why do you think that 'god' needs a heroic dose to be taken for him to be revealed?

I would really appreciate as many answers as possible. No irony, only sincere quest taking place with this question.

Peace, evolution and power to the thinking apes ;)

I can only answer your last question, as I do believe I have seen God during psychedelic experiences. I believe our birthright is to always see God, because he is within us, but because of all the conditioning each of us has to face during education (from our parents, and later on schools etc.) we forget how to perceive him. That's when a heroic dose of mushrooms come in handy, because they are pretty good at deconditioning (is that a word? whatever you know what I mean) the brain.

No, I haven't.at any doses. I felt the power, the divine, the evil...etc.But no god

If I were to name anything a god it'd be the love (or possibility to love) in any human being, and I experience that whenever I smile at a stranger and they smile back or when I see my family/friends. No need for psychedelics there, the thing I seek with psychedelics is to really fundamentally explore my mind and find whatever there is to find (edit: If there is anything to find, if there isn't I hope I'll learn something from trying to find that out).

Well... what do you mean by 'god'?

I've felt connected with the universe, which some consider god. I've observed an infinity greater than infinity, which was considered god by some. I've felt like I accessed pure awareness within me, which further some consider god.

I'm an atheist psychonaut, myself.

Ditto.

I don't. Mindfully walking around is enough to see 'god', in people, in nature. What's a heroic dose anyway? A clear intention + one normal portion of mushrooms can get me pretty far out there ^_^

lol*fan a dit:

Some consider the Brahman accessed through mindfulness to be god too, yes...

I do seek "God" in my 'psychedelic' quests. But that is not the only thing I seek, I also seek a deeper understanding of my self, or the unity that connects us all. My actual self, not this conditioned human being I have become. I do believe any dose can 'reveal' God, you just need to proper intention and the right substance. I know I am talking without experience behind my words, but freebase DMT often is describe as a 'face to face encounter with God'.

PEACE

Is a Brahman something like Batman with a bra on ???? I think Dr.Who is god .

saw God, once, he was only a voice and clear blue flash of light.
Ganesha, shiva, lots of hindu gods. Once saw mayan gods kiss, that was a wonderful experience, they know how to kiss...

All thanks to our little brothers, the mushrooms.

Kiss are on tour at the moment.....................

GOD, you're off topic, both times, despite the fancy name :P

================

Thanks to all for all the answers!! Please also answer the question about the dose. Do you think god or godly visions appear mostly in higher doses, the so called 'heroic' ones, and if yes, why is this so?

I felt the power, the divine, the evil...
What is the power, what is the devine, what is the evil? Sound like some theist stuff to me. Especially that 'devine' thing

Well... what do you mean by 'god'?
Well, how should I know? I deny him - but each one has a different story, ultimately prooving each god is a personal god

=============

Keep it coming! I really appreciate it...

Mutant,

It seems as if you are confused, constrained within your own abstract definition, and are attempting to interpret something pure and real utilising the tainted filter of societal doctrine, at least regarding theism.

I would say that you need to do some thinking, some binomial exploration, particularly outside of that which governs your currant perceptions of reality or the divine.

Divinity is only the expression of purity, growth and wisdom; call this god or not.
By abstracting this, you’re only going to get more confused, more out of touch with who you really are.
You have to leave your mask behind.

And GOD; the concept of Brahman is neither a comic book super hero, nor some mystified deity conjured by blind faith. It’s simply a name, a symbol, given to what you and I know is our true identity; which is essentially something nameless, and transcends any notion of conventional and twisted theism that this thread seems to be entrapped within.

If you really want to know what god is, simply take a step outside, smell the air, feel the earth, hear the birds, or just look in the mirror. If then you still don’t understand; wash, rinse and repeat.

Peace.

Whether you call something God or non-God doesn't really matter, everybody believes in the reality of this something. I happen to call it God, because I have experienced all the classical features described to God (omnipresence, omniscience, all-loving, etc.) and it just talks a hell of a lot easier than listing several laws of the universe that nobody comprehends.

What do you think god is? I think the only reason you deny its existance is because you have somewhat of an image in your mind describing what it should be? A man or woman up there looking down on us?

Forget everything the world religions have learned you about this concept.

In my opinion, everything that surrounds you, every living or lifeless thing, everything in our universe, everything outside our universe, indeed every feeling you get, every idea you come up with, everything you have experienced and everything you will experience. Your conscienceness, and that of all of the things and people around you, the conscienceness of the earth, of the universe.
Everything, and I mean everthing that exists, in the real world or in your imagination. All is god.

For me God is just a divine name for everything, for the great All. And well.. It becomes more than just that when it begins to speak to you.

mutant, what kind of psychonaut are you if you are asking that question ?
psychonauts are not meant to be all alike, but there are things that unite us, and although not everyone searches for god, one finds it true, because a thing that comes with experience is the undestanding of beyond duality, namely advita, if you care about hinduist philosophy. that's what we call god, not the unity, but everything that is beyond duality. just don't expect to understand everything fast, some people take the entire lifetime to know this - with or without psychedelics.
many of us have given their true honest opinion, and, still, you remain behind that shield. for how long ?

You are talking about God like it is an external being....

I met "the One that becomes many to experience herself" a number of times during psilocybin journeys.

Fortunately, I never met the jealous, rascist God from the old testament ;)

I love what Gordon Wasson, the first white guy we know of, that was introduced to the psilocybin trance by Maria Sabina, had to say about the 'benushroomd" state:

".. religion, pure and simple, free of Theology, free of dogmatics, expressing itself in awe and reverence and in lowered voices, mostly at night, when people would gather together to consult the Sacred Element.

And people still wonder why it is, that the church is trying to eradicate this from the face of the earth ;)

Yes , i was saying , call it what it is and dont use fancy esoteric fashion words .

"If you really want to know what god is, simply take a step outside, smell the air, feel the earth, hear the birds, or just look in the mirror. If then you still don’t understand; wash, rinse and repeat. "

Bingo !!!!!!

The reason that some people need to have a real dose of some Psychedelics is that they need it to go out of themselves , because they are stuck in there way of seeing . To soften and melt away their conditioning . = Ego death , so that they can see the truth . Everyone experiences God but some dont understand it . Some people use diferent techniks and experience God others actualy meet God . If you look for God you will find God . Knock and the door will be opened . Ask and you will get an answer . Seek and you will find .

Dont look for God as an old man with a white beard , search unconditionaly . God as an unidentified phenomenen . Ego death doesnt mean any kind of death it realy means reducing the contrioll your ego has on your view of things to a point where you can see things as they realy are . If you stop the internal dialog , stop the world and stop running away from yourself and peal off the layers of your conditioning , your ego and reduce your sight to the absolute minimum you will become pure consciousness . Nothing in the midst of nothing . The view , in darkness , being aware of tzhe view . If you then have the will and the destiny you will see the light . Then your destiny will decide if you see it , or see it and touch it , or see it and touch it and go into it , or seeit and touch it and go into it and turn around and see the universe , the truth as it is . If you are destined for it you will take the next step and become the light . There is a bit more to it than that , but that is something for each individual to seak and if its his destiny , to find it . When you find it you will know it . All fear and doubts will dissapear .

Most people only find the truth on their death beds , some dont even find it then . Its impoprtant to tread carefully . To make sure that you dont make any unforgivable mistakes in your life . To think about everything you do and the consequencys of your thoughts and actions and dont do things that you cant take the full responsibility for . You cant hide from yourself , from your conscience , you know what you have done , and you judge yourself . Good thoughts , good intentions , good words and good deads .

Or just talk iresponsible crap about Datura , or try it yourself and see god permanently......................................
