This may be a stupid question for experienced psychonauts, but its just a question that is not yet answerred for me and I want to know how you people think about it.

Is it possible that DMT not brings you to another dimension..how real it may seem in your mind, but actually makes your body able to see visions of the things your ancestors experienced. like a bodily function that is not present when sober but only when under the influence of DMT. Like you are able to get information from the information collected in your genes where you normally dont have access too? I myself have ZERO experience with this drug and dont have a strong need to try it, but i find the experiences very ..very intruiging.

I mean the geomatrical patterns that many people experience could be explainable by a sensory overload in the visual cortex maybe? (please correct me if i am wrong and tell me why)

Because i never really had this experience myself it is off course hard to give arguments for this. But i did have some heavy mushroom experiences where after i was done i still had the idea that it was a big mindfuck while during the trip i was convinced i had found the answer to some of the questions in my life.

So what i am actually trying to say is that in my eyes a DMT trip is a combination of sensory overload fantasy history of my own life and the history of my ancestors stored as knowledge (visible knowledge) in my genes.

I know this statement above is wrong, but because i didnt experience it (yet) i want to know from someone who did experience it...why i am wrong

i hope you know what i mean to find out with this question.

I never tried DMT myself, but I think the experience is very real. We are humans and we are limited by our senses. But when we take drugs there are no limits any more. Even without drugs it is possible to reach other dimensions. When people sleep, they leave there body almost every night!

For the dmt, you have 2 options:
1. You are aware of things that do not exist, but you believe they exist because of the drugs.
2. You are aware of things that exist for real, but without the drug we can't see it, because we are sober.

You believe it is the first possibility.
I think it is the second possibility. DMT is called the SPIRIT MOLECULE for some reason!!! When we are sober we (most people) can't see aura's, but when we took some mind altering drugs, we can see aura's.

it is like with near death experiences and out of body experiences. Why ignore the many stories of people who have experienced this. I have to agree with you that every cell in our body keeps information about you and perhaps about past lives. And there is something like the group human mind. Wich is a certain level of telepathie between species.

I think the DMT experience is a REAL experience and I'm gonna try it for sure, when I found some...

The entities that you visit in DMT trips are as surpised to see you than you are to see them...

Perhaps I went a little off topic, but if you don't believe that you can visit other dimensions read some books man:

A book like "Journeys out of the body" from R. Monroe who was a normal person like you and me with a job...
Nederlands: "Uittredingen". After you read this book think again about visiting other dimensions, you will have to admit that there is more then the human body and mind.

Hyperion1980 a dit:

thank you for replying :)

actually i also think its the second possibility, but in another way then you think.

Maybe ill just have to try it for myself, but im gonna read some books first as you suggested

Good morning friends!

Well, I've never smoked DMT but am getting ready to do a mimosa extraction so hopefully by this weekend, I'll have some of the fabled "elf spice". We'll see when the package arrives.

I have used huasca 11 times though. I've also read Strassman's "DMT: The Spirit Molecule" where volunteers are given intravaenous dmt and I find all the experiences described in the book to be very different from my forays with the substance. Everything I read in Strassman's book or have heard from people that have smoked it, is that they meet alien-like entities. When I ingest dmt I meet plants and animals. Usually I can tell who they're supposed to represent. On a strong dose, the visuals become to overwhelming and real to see what is actually going on around you but I know that when a rose or a sunflower starts talking to me that it's my wife. Maybe because she's always the sober one. If I'm with a group of friends, they'll usually come across as whatever animal I imagine myself to be at the time.

__"So what i am actually trying to say is that in my eyes a DMT trip is a combination of sensory overload fantasy history of my own life and the history of my ancestors stored as knowledge (visible knowledge) in my genes."___

This really struck a chord in me. I don't know if it's true but it's a good description. With huasca I feel a great connection to everything that's made me who I am. I feel like I am receiving information from ancestors I've never met and that I can somehow manipulate my genes or DNA to change who I am while I'm in that state. Actually, a lot of people experience feelings like this. It's how folks claim to have cured themselves of disease or a mental illness through the aid of ayahuasca. There's just a lot of strange things in that space and after having seen it 11 times, it still confuses and intrigues me; I really don't know what to make of it. I don't know if it's just the effects of a drug or if there is something much deeper to it. Either way, I love it. It's the only "religious" practice I have. It makes me feel really good for many months after drinking it.
