The war on drugs is still going on. Many people get killed or imprisoned because they use or sell illegal drugs.

How do you think this will end ?

This doesn't sound very possitive ! I think the war on drugs will end in the near future. In Europe the Governments getting a more and more liberated drug pollicy.

Marihuana is still illegal in most part of the world but in Europe not many people are getting seriously punnished because they use marihuana, or am I wrong ?

There is no real 'War on Drugs'! It's a lie. There are only drug wars. It's just a war over competition.
Governments (or parts of them at least) are involved with the drug trafficking just like the "criminals".
And I am just not talking about the legal pharmaceutical drugs, although for (harmful) effects on the human body there is no distinction between legal and illegal. No, I'm talking about heroin and cocaine trafficking by
(largely, but not only US) military, secret services, and Drug Enforcement Agencies. Nation states have been involved with the drugs trade for hundreds of years and the narcotic laws that started in the 1920's have changed nothing. This is all well documented. The 'War on Drugs' is just a gang war over turf.

Well ... I'm not as sure about people not being punished in Europe for the use of marijuana, because I live in Portugal and actually the drugs have been discriminalized (not legalized) in here, but I remember about 1 year ago me and my friends being searched by the police with shotguns pointed at our heads, almost every week, and the only thing we did was smoking hash! Many people I knew were even searched without even taking drugs! It's an abuse, I have already seen people being searched inside a bar, and people who didn't take drugs, and just because the way they look or act, they're judge and treated like trash.
About the pole I don't know how this will end, for me people have the right to do what they want with their lifes... drugs should be legalized. But meanwhile, i agree when said that the government moves drugs, of course those apprensions and stuff aren't burnt how they say, they are reselled to dealers and it goes around and around. But the most difficult is that people don't have information on drugs, and here if you talk about drugs, they normally tell you you're scum and have a lot of diseases, that you probably rob your parents and friends for the product and that you have no use in society... so you're drugged :\
Unfortunatelly is like that, that's why I think at least in the time while I am alive there will allways be drug wars, although I will try everything at my reach to stop 'em.
