Hello, Im new here, Im going to recall my my experience fully (before, during and after).
I had never experimented with drugs, let alone psychadelics, but that didn't stop me and my friend from purchasing a small bong and a gram of 10x from the local head shop (right off of campus).
Earlier today the opportunity to smoke presented itself (our floor wasn't crowded, and it was pretty quiet) so we pulled the shades down, put on some mellow floyd, lit some desert sage incense and got to it.
Three people were there with me; two good friends and one of their roomates (who was working on a laptop facing away from me). One of my friends (who is quite experienced with drugs) packed the bowl, showed me how to hit the bong (kind of sad I know but everyones gotta learn somewhere), and pretty much got it ready for me.
Sitting in a comfortable folding chair, With my butane lighter in hand and my piece, I took my first hit; which was surprisingly smooth through a bong, nowhere near as harsh as it is made out to be. Immediately I began to feel this rippling feeling, it rippled though my brain, down my neck and shoulders, down my arms, torso, and legs. The reality of the room also seemed to shift to a more cartoonish state (think of the video to "Take on me" by A-HA but in color). As this happened my friend had taken the bong away from me (so I wouldn't break it) and packed another bowl. As he handed it to me I quickly took another long rip and held it as long as I could (I think i did well those two times for not being a smoker), worried that I would fade out before the second hit. I then handed it back to my friend and allowed myself to be taken.
Then things got weird, fast.
The rippling turned into an intense electric rolling, i began to sweat profusely and the world changed fast. Apparently I held my hands out in front of me for a while, like I was trying to tilt reality. I don't know when it happened, but I realized this unbelievable truth. I finally learned that the world, existence, all of it doesn't actually exist...its all a big joke, a conspiracy against me, and my friends were in on it.
"No, stop" was the only think I could say in protest to what happened next. I had looked into the shadow under the bed in front of me and I saw what appeared to be the end of an open book (pick up and open a book and put your face in the middle of it, look down the middle and youll know what I mean.) Then I knew, truly, what was going on, the world had become a giant pop-up book, or it always had been and I didn't notice it till now, like the truth had been revealed. When my friends heard me say "No stop" they instinctively stopped moving as to not freak me out (they told me this later) but this made it even more terrfiying.
Think back to a children's movie or show when a pop-up book comes to life or a doll house, the "characters" always stop moving and become still again at the end of the story, melding back into their book or become inanimate again. When my friends stopped moving, and were just smiling, I knew that they knew all along reality was going to end, the book was about to shut. In desperation I kept repeating "No, no, no, please", trying to will the book to stay open, to not shut and end it all. I looked up instinctively and what I saw blew me away...
The ceiling was gone, and in its stead was an open blue sky, a sky which framed a very large human face, peering into the contents of this pop up book which was reality. I dont remember any of its features, but it was there... At this point the trip began to fade and I was starting to come down, as I came down I was still paranoid, and going through a wide range of emotions like fear, amazement, regret, depression and a far greater sense of understanding, Like I just realized some terrible truth I wasnt ready for... Mainly I just felt a very strong desire to be on solid ground, in reality again, because I felt I was never gonna come back.
Eventually I came down enough to ask them to open the blinds, the light that poured in helped ground me back to reality well enough to explain my trip to my friends, After which my one friend was even more intrigued to try it (as well as my other friend's roomate) I also burst out laughing for no reason at certain points as I recounted my tale.
The entire experience felt like it was only a few minutes in length, but my friends put the time more accurately at a half hour, which amazed me. The actual trip definitely felt like it was only a minute long, but again my friends say it was longer, claiming I was really gone for about 6-7 minutes. I had a sense of unbelievable mental clarity and clear-headedness for at least an hour following the trip.
In conclusion, I (like almost all first time users) have a very strong respect for this herb. There are now so many questions that I have to figure out. Did I see outside our universe? Who was the figure? Was it God? Or lady Salvia herself overseeing my travels? While I felt like I never wanted to try it again as I came down, I now recall my trip with amazement, wonder, and a huge sense of satisfaction and gratefulness that I tried it. I intend to meat Lady Salvia many times more in the future and hope she teaches me well.
