Okee people, let's go.
Not the first music thread, but I just want to hear peoples favorite songs and artists and live performances.
Go wild! Nobody will judge you for it (even if it's a song by Britney Spears or Coldplay or Creed or whatever)

I'll start with this amazing performance of Hurt by Nine Inch Nails
This song could also fit in the songs about drugs thread
"The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything
"

NIN - Hurt - Beside You in Time Live

(too bad we still can't embed vids...)

I love hurt, in both versions (NIN and Cash) it's so sad :(

I change favourite songs many times but I am now enchanted by one very song...

Blindfold - Morcheeba

Reminds me a bit of Dido which I also like

I'm not a particularly big fan of Morcheeba, but they have some cool songs.
This one is nice

Caduceus Mercurius a dit:
Best live performance of a song, with exceptional sound quality and nice variations to the album version, not to mention the obvious enthusiasm of the band, is Queens of the Stone Age playing Misfit Love @ the Henry Rollins show.
Hehe awesome, QOTSA @ Henry Rollins 8)
He also had the Mars Volta

Oh sorry space, u should be more clear in your post man... :?
I am sorry i went wild and i thank u for judging me and keep things narrow

to follow the rules:

Chronos

Jeniger, I really liked your song! But especially the first two minutes (I like Gandalf, Kitaro, Vangelis and stuff like that). Could you do an eight hour track with just those kind of sounds? 8)

@ Space: I've seen the Mars Volta performance, those guys are nuts!! :D

Perhaps not that enjoyable to those who don't know the songs, but I really like the performance of this medley (containing Yertle the Turtle, a RHCP tune based on a poem by Dr.Seuss, Freaky Styley and Funkadelic's Cosmic Slop) at the VPRO studio, in 1990: RHCP - Yertle the Turtle

As much as I appreciate their current dedication to making 'the most beautiful songs', I really prefer the Chili Peppers from those days...

I don't know where to start there is so much good music out there.
:?:

oh. I discovered them only recently despite having heard of them already before... you may know the feeling when you discover a jewel in music and curse yourself for not having discovered it before...well, Morcheeba and Air (french band, very cool) were my recently discovery and I am fascinated... :D

NERD

such a good tune!! 8)

very good songs you all posted too!

Funkadelic - Maggot Brain, just incredible.

Of course BSSM peppers: Suck my kiss, Sir Psycho Sexy, Blood Sugar Sex Magik etc. There's rumors circling around that they will start recording new album this year. I'm afraid that it will be a bit too pop rock again instead funk rock, oops bit carried away...

I found this beautiful music on youtube Randomajestiq - Nikkl ;

the best live performance is probably Beck for me

Sounds nice, almost has a Boards of Canada feel too it, in terms of pitch bending, only BoC work with oldskool tapes and this is clearly done with filtering and digital bending, but awesome stuff :D

Yeah, Mike & Jochem 8)
