what do you listen too while...under the influence...i like death metal...not like bullet for my valentine but like cannibal corpse and slayer and job for a cowboy

----------peace

last night I was listening to Janis Joplin...it is great how you realize the great complex structures of the music while you are high....
..or in other words: it was fucking heaven.

Hell, I like to listen to King Crimson, Rush, Portishead, or Failure, if I'm looking for something a bit off kilter. Sometimes I just get in a straight rock n' roll mood and I'll listen to some classic heavy metal or some grunge or something of the sort. :D

under the influence of what?

I love listening to psybient under the influence of psychedelics. Shpongle, Capsula and Younger Brother are my favorites. Kick Bong is also a favorite. I will guarantee a very very special trip if listening to one of these under the influence

a list of music i listened last night on mushrooms

Human mesh dance - mindflower
Robert rich & steve roach – strata
Robert rich – seven veils
Antonio Testa & Alio Die – Prayer to the forest
Spyra – etherlands
and I ended with some Pink Floyd.

It was an amazing trip. :D
I feel reborn.

CAN / Gong / Soft Machine / Tangerine Dream / Klaus Schulze / Ozric Tentacles

And so on.

it always pleases me whenever these questions are asked to start seeing the krautrock references popping up. don't know why, just makes me feel warm and fuzzy somewhere.

in a similar vein (not krautrock), anyone here ever heard "this heat"?

depends in what mood I am... but most of the time electronic music, sometimes instrumental and occassionaly the radio

Styles I really dig (for listening, for partying I prefer the wilder stuff  ) IDM, Psybient, (dark-)Ambient, Minimal/Dub Techno, Progressive, Industrial/Elektroclash etc etc I like it all to be honest :D

cmon...keep it goin

Must listen to's:

UNKLE - Never Never Land

Thievery Corporation - The Richest Man in Babylon

Massive Attack - 100th Window

Give it a shot, once you start you'll stay.

it's dark here and I'm oozing out:

Lords of Destruction - Diablos, Mephisto & Baal (triplag records)

ill give variety but keep it simple...

DnB/ electronica:
future prophecies
aphex twin
kruder & dorfmeister

ska/punk/alternative:
sublime
bad religion
misfits
dead kennedys

rap/hip-hop:
***immortal technique***
kosher beets

not a big rap fan, i can relate to these guys, ESP IMMORTAL TEK

These are at the top of my list.

I feel deeply connected to Jimi's music:
His message for today (Iraq and Afghanistan) is as strong as it was back then (Vietnam and riots):

(early) Pink Floyd floats me around quite well:

One of today's most interesting bands for me: TOOL

I said it before and i'm saying it again. "Capsula - Synthesis of Reality"

I have to tell you that this type of music is exactly my taste, and this is without doubt the best album i have ever heard, so this is not going to be a great third person review. Taste or not, if you do have good ear, you cannot help but falling in love with the technical perfections and variations in this album, simply unique.

I’ve heard this album literally over 50 times, and my conclusion is that you cannot define this album, it is not downtempo, dub, ambient or trance, but it sure is psychedelic. The best overall description of this album would have to be the album’s title “Synthesis of Reality
