I just received an email describing how a certain person, pretending to be a professor who had worked with Albert Hofmann, has been gathering information in private correspondences and is using that against at least one of our former members. Supposedly the DEA and Dutch police eventually got involved, and print-outs of private correspondence was used against this person in court.

There's no need to go into the details here, like who was the snitch and who was busted. All you need to know is that:

No illegal substances
Members offering or requesting illegal substances will be banned and put upon our IP blacklist.

This is one of our forum rules.

We can moderate the public forums, but we cannot moderate your private correspondences. Whatever information you exchange through private messages is your own responsibility.

So please be cautious! Do not offer or request illegal substances (including natural psychedelics), and never ever tell anyone your real name and address. Be especially careful with individuals who never participate in the forum itself. The snitch in this particular case never wrote anything in public.

Drug use and criminal record OK". That right, the Albuquerque police department ran an advertisement that they will pay drug informants to drop the dime and snitch! Even if they themselves are convicted criminals. This isn't the first time they did it either. The last time a similar advertisement was ran so many phone calls were received that they were forced to turn off the hotline!

To them, "The Law" trumps personal honor, and lying is required in some cases, so you may as well get on with it.

This is well known about LEO.. generally, they will lie their ass off to get admissions or confessions, and so on. For example, the whole "we'll go easier on you if you cooperate".

No they won't. They just say that to get you to spill the beans which, if you had said nothing, you wouldn't be sitting in prison.

So, if a person is not known to you personally as honorable in Real Life (as in, you've known them for some time) don't give any personal information to anyone.. ever.

The next time someone says "hey man, I have a domestic source..." just leave it alone. Why would they give that to you, a complete stranger?

The private message part is save enough!!!! It's a phpbb forum that is professionally programmed.... But you just need to becarefull with who you are communicating. And of course follow the forum rulezzzzz. It seems that the cops are just bored and appear on the internet.

This thread was intended as a warning. No need to bash the snitches, they're just doing a job to provide for their families. You can't blame people for being ignorant, it's usually the result of being born in an ignorant family or an ignorant community. Breathe in, breathe out...
