What do I need to know about sclerotia?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is it ?
What species form sclerotia?
How can slerotia be cultivated?
How can sclerotia be consumed?
How does the potency of P. mexicana and P. tampanensis sclerotia compare to P. cubensis fruitbodies?

What is it ?

Sclerotia form from the mycelium of certain mushroom species as a defense mechanism against dryness, cold, heat, or excessive moisture. Sclerotia contain approximately 30% dry matter. The potency of dry sclerotia is around 2/3 that of dry P. Cubensis fruitbodies.

high guys!with all that sclerotia talk i got a bit confused, and since i just received today my package of Philosophers stones, and it´s the first time i´m going to try this mushies,i was wondering if anyone could tell me about the usage methods do i have to eat them or can i boil them in some tea (isn't heat going to eliminate potency of sclerotia?),and what is the main difference i can expect from them, comparing to the cubensis? Thanks!

Stay Cool!!!

just eat them. I heard they taste better than cubensis...

Ok,i'll do that. But i was wondering, how long can i keep the philosophers stones, and if so,what's the best way to do that?(refrigerator?).Do i have to take them fresh or do they still work when dried? thanks.
