First off: Patience is a virtue !
IMHO there aint such a thing like a definitly safe dosage.
It highly depends on the brand of poppy seeds.
(even within a "good/potent" brand there are "dead" charges)
I recently read a study (an official one) comparing different brands regarding morphine levels -> it's varying from 0 to 320mg morphine per kg poppy seeds.
-> 0.2g = 200mg might be already deadly according to Wikipedia ...
(0.2 - 1.5, but for a safe dose we have to pick the lowest one)
A variation from nothing to deadly for (tea from) 1 kg seeds !
To get sure you have to asume the most potent brand -> indeed for 300g seeds that's approx. 0.1g morphine -> not deadly ...
if you say not deadly equals safe -> 300g are safe ...
imho 300/250g sounds reasonably safe. (to start)
Btw: afaik poppy seeds do NOT contain alcaloids per se.
It's just a matter of harwesting methods !
... how good/bad the alcaloids/morphine within the pots containing the seeds are "washed" off ...
