Hey guys, I have a friend who is trying to wein himself off of Hydrocodones, from like 2 years. I suggested to him a Poppy Seed Tea, to take whenever he starts fiending bad for them.

So he's going to get some Poppy Seeds and put it to the test, hopefully it works! I send him a website for seeds, and I also found this article which was quite inspiring to the cause: http://www.drugs.com/forum/featured-con ... 39414.html

I will post how this works out, if this works, I'm going to be trying to cure pain killer addictions around my local area, using nothing but some mind power and poppy tea! I know many many people who are addicted to pain killers so I hope to help many people break there addictions. Wish me luck! :D

So you'll treat opioid addiction with...opioids?

EDIT: Only read the article after the post. A bit misleading, no? Basicly is just shifting from one addiction to other!

Ibogaine FTW!

if the end result is tapering off the dose with a plan to stop then it would probably be easier to stop the tea than the tablets. whatever works is the best

Yes, switch off to the tea and than slowly ween of the tea. Taking a pill is much easier than making a cup of tea, so I figure it should be easier to stop taking the tea, plus you are only getting your fix, none of the other stuff in pills.

Personally whenever I quit doing any drug I'm a cold turkey kind of guy, that's the only way I can do it. -.-

Watch out as the potency of popy seeds can vary greatly, because the opiates are mostly on the surface of the seeds. People have died from poppy seed tea.

Yeah, that and the poppy seed tea is pretty much pure morphine from the poppy plant. It is really addictive as well, it is the opioid per se, with all the really good effects and full addiction potential...

I hear kratom can work to get off of opiates. I know that its addiction potential is near to zero (I have used it for weeks and then just quit, without any withdrawal effects). However I doubt it will be much of a help with strong opiate withdrawal (but maybe a little will be enough? If only kratom wasn't that expensive...)

Thats all a load of balls . You can buy sacks of poppy seeds here , they are not controlled and they would be if there was the slightest chance of getting beamed from them . They are also sold covering the top of bread rolls , and as a poppy seed cake thats a childrens favorite .

Grind the pills up and slowly cut the dose . Go and get some valium or something similar from the doctors to help you sleep .

Maybe the seeds are all washed pretty well today, but there are tons of people saying that some batches of legal seeds were being laced with opiates - but that was the problem: one batch would have almost nothing on them and you'd need 1kg to achieve any effects, and with the next batch you'd almost die from 500g because they were laced with so much opiates.

I never tried, but I think these reports are legit, because poppy seeds might be laced with opiated on harvest, unless they are thoroughly washed.

If they had any raw opium on them they would stick together and stink . If there is any opiates they must be inside the seeds . I shall look what Ratsch has to say .

Ratsch says the seeds contain extremely little to no alkaloids . = at best chemical traces = no high .

from personal experience, i find that if you get 3-5 nice pods (hens and chicks strain) and you mix in some lemon juice, bring to a slight boil, then simmer for 30 min, you WILL get shmammered. 30 pods was enough for 8 trips. + a little chron with that = damn.

Thats the pods , wich are known as opium starw , contain alkaloids and are illegal , not the seeds .

Well whether there are trace ammounts of Morphine, etc, in the seeds or not, the experiment has seemed to work, wether through the effects of placebo or not.

When I first posted this topic the 'patient' couldn't sleep without a pain pill, and would suffer the symptoms of withdraw. Currently he is drinking the tea, and slowly adding less and less seeds with the same ammount of water, making it more dilute.

Like I said though, whether the chemicals are there or not, this seems to be an effective method of curing light-medium opoid addiction.

Well, "curing" the addiction sounds nice - but if there are any opioids in the seeds you don't cure the addiction, you only administer a low dose of opiates to make the patient feel okay. The addiction is still there...

PLEASE BE CAREFUL!

When you make an infusion from these seeds, there is no telling how much opiates your solution will contain. You are truly playing a potentially deadly game of Russian roulette.

There are no drugs in the seeds , only in the seed capsukes .
