I tried DMT for the first time yesterday, after hearing about it some 5 years aog.

Now, I’ve had my fair share of acid, boomers, ect, but this was a different experience altogether. I thought that I had really tripped on acid when my thoughts spiraled off forever and everything repeated itself, but no...this was...different. The play of colors and shapes was overwhelming...I wrote this shortly afterwards to a chum who wants to experience it...

You inhale the smoke. it leaves a horrible taste in your mouth, and you find it hard to breath it in very deep. you must breath it in, all the way. After 2 hits(about 5-15 seconds) you struggle to take a 3rd. barely pulling this off, you realize that the surrounding area is evolving. not breathing, not melting, EVOLVING! you hear a high pitched tone, like an ambulance or siren of some kind. you fall back and find yourself at a loss of words (and ego, and reality, and a constant thought process), and realize that speaking is not needed, plus you cannot describe what is happening anyway. you feel completely overloaded with visuals. the swirling lines and overlapping colors make themselves into a flower as you cant tell if your eyes are open or closed. not that it matters anyway. then, the flower open for you and you are over run with a brilliant white light. nothing is constant, everything is taken away form you. caught in a momenturnity, and behold, it all returns. back to reality, but everything is still so colorful, patterned and breathing. almost overwhelming. this lasts for about 5 minutes. then you feel euphoric for about an hour.

my real question is: Is this stuff safe? i mean, can anything thats this great really be good for you?

Thats what happend to you , the first time . Every experience has a common way of happening but every experience isnt the same . Just like every trip .

If you could still see this world you didnt have enough for a full hit .

Its safe . The question is is the person that is useing it .

and realize that speaking is not needed

I had exactly the same realisation on my first ayahuasca trip
Never heard anyone mention it before so this is cool to hear :)
Can't say it's safe.
Can say it's already naturally produced by the brain (that's why your subconscious recognizes it ;) ) and supposedly higher concentrations occur when dreaming (the feeling can be recognized from the meaningful dreams that try to teach you something) witch I all find really interesting.. :P

If you liked the general feel, but would like to get more out of it, not be so overwhelmed so you are able to think through some stuff and actually remember it (no problem at all), give aya a try sometimes! I loved aya 8)

Don't worry, despite the fact that you truly hold the belief that you have had your life, you're safe.

The effects are so utterly strong, and the tense before you are eliminated to visuals and fractals feels so intense that you tend to lose any belief of safety. And once you're in, there's no description either.

It's not an experience that everyone wants to undergo. But if you like it, it's harmless crack.

Be aware that you have to abstain from it for a while as well just as with other entheogens. It may feel as something you can do every week, but it definitely is a strong mental journey after repeated use.

I'd say once a month is preferable.

I don't think it is appropriate to say that it is 100% safe. Maybe it is physically 100% safe, but it is an intense journey into your mind. On the mental side, it can be a little risky. Not everyone can enter that space.

peace & love

I think dmt just overloads every sense you have for a short time... i.e. its definitely not a good thing to smoke, however i believe ayahuasca in drowning your senses in every way shape and form over a period of hours can unlock things... idont know. have fun

Hmm i always kind of totally love it and when I return I am always kind of ecstatic almost like being in love or something :P
I guess it's personal. To me the dmt consciousness/world feels like my little home away from home really. Only reason I don't smoke it every day (usually  ) is there is not enough known about it. I like moderate doses best. I think aya is more meaningful. Just having a smoke can leave me feeling very much in my element for a few hours or an entire day though.
I guess you are right though and there is quite some strain on the psyche sometimes as it's quite a journey. I stop for a while when this occurs. I'm still refining my frequency and moments of use so I can prevent this strain instead of stopping when I feel it's there. To prevent is better then to cure.
Until now I have never felt as if I was playing with fire or anything, it's there though subconsciously, the little voice saying: "there's not much known about (frequent) use of this substance and potential adverse effects, you might have a brain tumor in a few years".
But hey I'm a macho hardcore psychonaut  I have not the patience nor the time for little voices

Hmmm, I think that it's the other way around, that it's mentally very safe, although it's definitely rocking your world HARD.
But inhaling smoke of burned compounds is ofcourse bad for the lungs,
so I wouldn't think it to be 100% physically safe

It isn't smoke, it's vapor! :D

It depends on person and situation. Set + setting

I wouldn't smoke it while driving...

Keep in mind it's a long-term development, you're engaging in a relationship with these entities... if you choose to. An interactive process. You take 'them' seriously while interacting or not ;)

Welcome to the forum tryptographer .

When any of you you see the ilusions why dont you kick them in the balls and smack them in the face a few times , or just spit at them ?

Call me a weirdo trunk toting thickhead, but I like the taste of it.

Your a weirdo trunk toting thickhead who likes the taste of burning plastic / moth balls . But welcome to the forum .

Thank you, GOD.

I never thought of DMT as tasting like burning plastic. It certainly smells like it, but the taste is pretty mild and even slightly sweet in my memory. Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me and covers up the taste with soothing feelings of bliss and bewilderment.

Thanks for the welcome god.

The DMT realms subjectively come across as completely real - impossible to put into words... many say it's even more real than real. I won't wave them away as simply illusions.

I 'abused' it once (launched just out of boredom, slightly drunk) and was surrounded by furiously roaring lion-entities, towering 30 feet high. Absolutely deafening angry noise...
On the other hand, it can be the most friendly and pleasurable experience of your life... by far!

God, maybe you were kidding but there's no point in trying to smack or spit them, friendly or terrifying ;)

I agree about the smell Ganesha, when pure the smell is not bad at all. Smoking through a water bong and a Brillo or copper wool filled pipehead may help to make it smoother.

About safety: make sure there are no solvent residues or even lye in what you inhale. Recrystallize if it's harsh.
Mentally, it's very unpredictable, I think there's not one DMT space but thousands of them, it like a bundle of keys. Nothing is 100% safe... the chance of becoming 'crazy' is almost zero, the worst (or best) thing that can happen is a drastic reset of worldview. Usually an expansion :)

i personally think that smoking dmt is abusing the substance.. if you want full blown effects of dmt, you should make a brew. it lasts much longer, and it will give you SOME time to figure out what you are seeing. iv had many journeys into my self and learned many things. how to become a better person, and so on.

iv never learned anything from smoking it, iv just gone into complete hyper space, seeing many crazy things. mostly images in a calidascope type of view, or things looking to be made out of complete energy (i have also seen fire coming out of hard-wood floor which also has the texture of the hardwood floor... not a scary lookin fire.. but different)

ANYWAY... yeah, i think you should try drinking a brew.

I have a little thing with the taste too, not that it's nice or something but it immediatly gives me a feeling of familiarity. Just as with the experience that is like a 'welcome back'.

I disagree that's abuse. You can also say that taking MAOi's, inhibting your natural own body enzymes is abuse. If you won't follow a strict diet from 'normal' foods you can die.

As for the experience, I think it's not always about learning, a lot of people already know what's good or bad. At the peak of a good mushroom trip and can think straight just as bad as with dmt. The point is that during the peak your ego breaks and when coming back you feel humble and remain humble for a while.
