Normally when dmt is extracted in dreamland the rootbark is ground up, saturated with water using NaOH to keep the ph 12+ and then extracted with naptha which is reduced 75% and freeze crystallized to get a snow storm. I recently read a technique for large scale dmt extraction that avoids the jugs of nasty black basic mimosa slurry. Also it mentions that when naptha is added it immediately goes cloudy do to over saturation of the alkaloids, you can judge the perfect amount of solvent to add when it remains clear on addition.

It recommends covering the ground mimosa rootbark with an inch of alcohol, heating and filtering. Apparently if you basify the alcohol beforehand you can extract the majority of the alkaloids with one pull. This alcohol is evaped and you are left with a freebase dmt "cake".

How does one judge a high pH in alcohol? pH papers wouldn't seem to work without a large amount of water..
 
I would assume with KOH or NaOH you just calculate the amount added, with full dissociation (dissassociation?).

So just the concentration, regardless if there is HOH or EtOH

Just a guess though, but I'm fairly sure thats how you would do it.
 
This is off topic -- but I wonder who decided to soak a piece of wood in water, then drink of the water.

Maybe natives were looking for flavor for their alcohol and found they tripped balls.

hahaha just sheer luck i guess. So whos gona come with me to brazil and travel around until we find a farmer that will soak 200kg rootbark in alcohol and boil it down for us? Mail that tincture back to the US and let the fun begin, fuck importing the bark. whats the legality of the semi-processed rootbark tincture?
