I just read an article in 'Het Parool' about the (mis-)use of medicine and how, in some countries, this is far worse than the 'traditional' drugs problem.

According to the drugs agency of the UN, in countries like Canada, Mexico & USA, the use of painkillers as narcotics happens more and more. And people of all ages use them! This problem gets even worse because of illegal pharmacists on the internet who sell the stuff...

This is what happens if you take nature's gifts away from people!

Yeah it's a bad and unfortunately big problem.
Illegal perscriptions or people stealing the doctors perscription "notebloc"
It's awfull. And the worst thing is, those "medecines" are often much more hazardous and bad for you then most psychedelics I know...

Recently I read that about 75% of all liver failure is due to paracetamol use in the US. That means certain death in a lot of cases I think.

This is where the entheogenic community has a task imo.

Some facts:

LSD and psilocybin where effectively used by treating:

migraine
allergic reactions
addictions to substances including hard to beat addictions like alcohol and heroin
all kinds of depressions

etc...

Then US youth started protest against the Vietnam war, Kennedy was killed and the US put out a law making all these substances illegal. And all European countries put their noses high in US government ass and copied these laws without question.

Once you realize the fact that about 70% of all disease is psychosomatic, you cannot do anything else than admit that we have made a very good candidate to cure a lot of diseases, illegal to use.

Also keep in mind that the pharmaceutic industry in one of the largest in the world and can easily compete with weapons and oil industry.

Then you will start to see that real medicine has been made illegal because the institutions don't want to heal people, the want to surpress symptoms. Surpressing symptoms brings in the big cash cause when you don't solve a disease, you have to continue battle the symptoms.

And since most entheogenic healings take no more than one session and about $20 of plant material, its not hard to see where the money can be made.

*HeartCore hopes more fellow psychonauts will educate themselves about the history of the substances they take and take a stand instead of 'just having a good time'.

/dramatic mode off

;)

Seriously, psychedelics are to the psyche what a telescope is for studying the stars. A long time ago people wanted to make the telescope illegal. These where the same people that have made plants illegal nowadays: Narrow minded politicians with fundamentalist christian roots.

How would you react if tomorrow a law prohibiting the telescope would be put in place?

And don't think psychedelics are more dangerous than a telescope, it's all a matter of education on use. If you don't believe this, please point a telescope directly at the sun and look into it. No, please don't :P

PS Anyone here heard about the fishpopulation near the big harborcities in the US are becoming sterile because of the prozac waste in the water?

I heard from someone recently who had been codeine-addicted in his early twenties. He said it was the easiest and cheapest drug he and his friends could get when they were young. They just went to a doctor specialized on drug addicts and told him they were heroin addicts who wanted to substitute. The doctor prescribed them big bottles of codeine every time without further controlling their stories (I'm sure the pharmaceutical industry paid his vacations because he was such an avid dealer of their products...)

That's insane!

HeartCore a dit:
