Hi all,

I just would like make me sure about a sensation that i feel when i'm under acid influence. I took twice so far. It was the same product. During this two times i experienced a relatively unpleasant and strong sensation of anaesthetization of my touch sense. I touched my arm for example and my skin was like insensitive rubber, i insists: very very insensitive.

Do you all have quite the same feeling? It was the only "scary" part of my experiences... ( i'm more a mdma consumer)

thanks!

No. And I never heard this before.

But Acid can do a lot to you and can really have some effects that just exist in your mind. Mental barricades can be experienced physically, for example. These kind of experiences are *VERY* personal. Only you can know what it might mean and how your attitude towards life can have caused this feeling.

ibiscus, i've had those sensations myself, it began with the skin insensivity, and later turn to be a complete body anaesthetization. i began doing some push-ups to see how it went, and i did many, many push-ups (at least it seemed so), and couldn't feel any tiredness. after some of them (i can only do about 10-15 without touching the ground), about 30 or 40, my body was breathing heavily, and it couldn't respond so well to my stimuli, so i guess my body was very tired, and i was contemplating this from the outside, like i was commanding a puppet. my spatial coordination was also faulty: when i joined my hands together in front of me, my brain told me that the hands were united when they were 30cm away, and when the hands touched, the brain would tell me that they had passed the other and missed, like they were passing INSIDE one another. this "misinformation" never quite dissapeared, even today (and i've finished that trip some months ago) and i learned to live through it. the tracers also never dissapeared completely, and at night they are quite noticeable, but it can be simple to learn to "read" through them.

peace!

thanks for your answer..it worries me a bit that you've never heard that before. But i totally agree with you about the very personal dimension of a trip with acid. I was just thinking that physical sensations were more objective and shared... but as you say, mind can creates body sensations..

hi daytripper,

Ok, I can say that we have had the same sensations, also with the feeling of untiderness and distorsion of motions. Is it because you know that it will definitely disapear that you're not worried about its duration?

peace

Hey, I don't know everything! So it might happen to other people as well, like daytripper said.

Objectivity will slowly disappear when you use more psychedelics. But it is not a bad thing.

I'd suggest to dig into this the next time you use acid or shrooms. Just try to feel your skin again and ask yourself why you don't feel it. You might discover something you do regularly that taints your everyday view of life, namely the will that the outside world is 'objective'. Or there might be nothing to worry about and it was just an interesting effect. Or it might be one of your fears that manifested. Any of these is interesting and could be discovered more fully.

The dissociation between mind and body is not very usual on LSD, in my opinion, more with Ketamine or DXM, but in a trip anything can happen

This is funny, I had precise the oppposite effects on Lsd.
My touching was far more developed then normal so i could feel every little crack on the surface of my skin. in the begining its quite funny but after a while its pretty anoying when every piece of your clothing feels like its rippin your skin open..

But i can imagion that an almost compleet anaesthetization of your body can cause for panic reactions.

i am not sure that it will go away, but i have learned to live with it. it was a pretty intense trip, and while the tracers and the new way of understanding space remain, i am sure that i won't forget the hard lessons i was given. they aren't enourmous tracers, but there are a few, enough to notice the difference. one shouldn't be affraid to lose some faculties, because new ones will emerge, like the plants that are born from the remains of an eruption.
if it will go away, i return to the previous understanding. if it doesn't, i am used to it. in matter of thoughts, i have noticed that all my previous thoughts are present, with the addition of the new thoughts caused by acid. it was like buying new shelves and filling them with books, and adding it to my library.

peace!

I have experienced that my skin has felt like plastic or wood, due to my alternative state of mind.

But acid doesn't any physical effects that suck water out of you, but many daily products such as coffee, carrots or red meat do mildly, and such sensations are much powerful when tripping.

Smoking weed and drinking espresso somehow causes a very disturbing water lose as well.

yeah, my skin is always numb under acid or shrooms.Especially the jaw, for reason unknown. And I can hardly taste anything. That's when eating becomes literally BORING :)

for me, the taste becomes completely alien. not only it seems that i am tasting a thing in a lost moment in time, large kilometers from my body, but it changes all flavours. once i was eating this left-overs from a fantastic fish i have cooked, and it tasted like i was licking a rusty iron.

Strange, everything tastes magic when I'm on shrooms. Dunno about acid tho, cause I haven't had the chance to try it yet :(

Once my friend made me taste something I had never eaten before while I was coming down from a pretty intense trip, and it tasted so good I felt very pleasant chill waves going all around my head, suddenly felt extremely happy and cried of joy. I looked at my friend and told him in awe: "maaaan, thist tastes reaaaaally good you know!!! So good! man it's taaaaasty!!!" (in fact as I speak french it is not exactly what I said :P )

I;ve experienced some of what you are describing though never to that extent. For me its not so much that i cannot feel my skin rather its that i do not feel that the skin (or the rest of my body) is "me" on acid. This is not the dissociative feeling that I've experienced on my few DXM trips. Its like i am viewing everything as the "perceiever" and the human body i am in is just a shell.
