ive had some out of body experiences from kavalactones in the past. no other realy noticable effects except crystal clear "coke vision" where everything is crisp and sparkly looking and somehow seems more real. along with the "feelings of welbeing" anxiolitic effects, it makes it one of my favorite highs.

has anyone else had much experience with kava?
id like to hear what sort of effects you noticed. i dont know anyone else who has tried it around here.

they have banned it here so if anyone knows where i can get some extract please PM me

Its banned here because of the potential liver damage . I`ve had loads of it in different quantitys and all it did to me was make me feel a little drowsy and uncomfortable .

I got a big bad of Kava Root Extract sitting in my drawer. I've tried a couple different brews, but it seems to leave a sort of burning feeling in my mouth, I've never been able to stomach enough for any noticeable effects myself.

trying it right now for the first time. so naturally i searched this forum until i found this thread. you can still get it in north america..

anyway i got the yogi tea that has about 80mg extract per bag, and i just took about 4 bags to start and made a few cups

already gotta say.. neat. it at first resembled alcohol intoxication but now it seems to be different. hard to put my finger on as this is my first real experience with it. i feel more photosensitive.. sort of like there is a soft blanket wrapped around me also. objects feel farther away somehow. and i feel a bit intoxicated but clear at the same time.

and i suppose this is really a pretty weak dose compared to what the natives use

as for the supposed liver damage, the wikipedia page anyway makes that seem somewhat dubious.

anyway i think i'm off to make some more now, i'm very curious. :D

when i ever manage to get some cannabis again (argh!) i'll definitely try mixing the two

Nice to hear! I tried making an alcohol extract of some Kava Kava and took a bunch of pills I made from the extract with no noticeable effects. :(

Maybe I'll look for a standarized extract. Happy dosing! :P

i've heard that the pills don't work for a lot of people but if you blend em up the traditional way they work better.

this tea is definitely far beyond placebo tho. i'm liking it! and its ridiculously cheap.. and tasty. not crazy, just finding i feel very lucid and clear. i went outside and had a bit of tobacco, it was as if my tolerance to it had been reset.. just a few puffs and i was suddenly visualizing stuff internally so clearly, without even intending to.

i'm guessing it is better to do it all at once rather than spread it out like i did tonight. it seems it comes on in sort of a wave, the first 30-45 mins or so are the most interesting, then you are left with a very nice general warmth and feeling of relaxation.

will definitely do this again...

as the effects are mostly gone now think i would just post a little addendum--
i was wrong. it stayed quite interesting after the first 45 minutes. once the direct effects of it kicking in wore off, it seemed to come and go in waves for an hour or two, leaving me able to function. especially after i got out of the apartment, i noticed it more. while not "hallucinogenic", i occasionally would float away in waves of thought or lose sense of perspective, size, etc.
my sense of touch was heightened..not to mention touching another human being made me want to be so gentle, i could feel the life energy somehow. i got very hungry, food tasted great, i ate and ate.

it works on the same receptors in the brain as alcohol does--there is a similar feeling there somehow. but i never was stumbling about or slurring my speech.

it wasn't a "wow" experience but more than interesting enough that i will make the tea more times in the near future, i'm sure!

its good stuff. if you are making a drink from it i recommend brewing it with lecithin or milk. soya lecithin works best IMO

ive had an OBE while taking large doses of the extract (from gel caps) mixed with milk. i cant remember the dose per cap but i was taking 20-25 days worth at a time with no noticable side effects. it was during my OBE, floating 2 meters above my own head, i first noticed im going bald

thanks, i'll definitely try it with soy next time. i'm guessing i took about ~450-500mg of extract, so maybe next time i'll up the dose as well.

it seems ridiculous they have it banned where you live. at some point governments are just going to have to ban plants in general if they are that over the top about controlling the consciousness of the population!

lol.

Thats a bunch of bullcrap that it causes liver damage, even the natives knew the outer coating of the root (rootbark) is poisonous.

They let big pharma companies grind the whole mess with the bark and make extract and 2-3 people get ill and they ban it. Someone here is responsible for making a poisonous extract and not even have it tested it for liver damaging substances, this is a high crime and those people need to be imprisoned !

If you ask me I'd say they did it on purpose because it's so much better than any antianxiolitic they can come up with.

In fact its so much better, that I'd bet the people who make those synthetic pills have paid to get the herb discredited, it's a common practice nowadays.

I used to have absolutely wonderful experiences with supermarket bought kava tea in the past. I've since upgraded to some really amazing fresh root powder form papua new guinea. Im in benzodiazapine withdrawal (was prescribed quite high doses of clonazepam and temazepam for the last year or so for anxiety and insomnia), and aside from the anesthetic effects (stronger than coke) this stuff seems to only bring me back to "normalcy". But i must admit that i have intense tolerance to any anxiolytic effects and if this tea can make me feel comfortable it must work wonders for most others. Never had any OEV's from kava though.

I just drank 2 good cups of this and smoked a clove cigarette. "i can't feel my face; like i can touch it, but i can't feel it..."

Eugenol is a powerful numbing agent !

Kava kava is wonderful too when its emulsion with oil is massaged into the skin, not only take the pain away from muscles, but drains the excess adrenaline from the tissue allowing better recovery.

Thats one wonderful effect of kava, it is one of the only known antidotes to excessive adrenaline, too bad it dosen't untrap histamine at the same time, if it could cannabis wouldn't be the only "miracle" plant on earth !

Proove it .

*jumps in the bush and rolls, parries blow with fingernail, rolls, presents the other cheek, gets hit, falls in the river and swims away crying*

You are mean ! Google it !

Eugenol in the form of cloves has been used a long time to numb painful teeths. Kavalactones... I'm not working here it's a forum... but oh well :
