Interesting looking Salvia cutting

I got new Salvia cuttings (thanks for tip Space ) and never seen them like this:

Roots growing all over and about 4 to 5 twigs have sprouted from the base. She seems to do well (put into a humidity tent) but I've never seen so many tiny Salvia leaves

Could but I don't think so. Two cuttings, both look like that and they look absolutely healthy. I guess if you put a cutting in a tube as is done before shipping and leave them too long, the leaves that develop in the tube will remain tiny because of the very limited space of the tube. Because of the constant high humidity in the tube, root start to form along the entire plant.

One day after transfer already visible growth is seen in some of the tiny leaves so I hope/guess they will come out nice.

Really cool, I'm jealous. I've been meaning to get a salvia-d plant for a while to go along with the various other types of sage I have.

are those roots growing from the leaves? you could propagate a lot of plants from the leaves alone

I'm tempted to take a few cuttings from the cutting but on the other hand, I want to be careful not to introduce too much stress.

Btw they grow from the stems but over the entire stem.

Yes they already are starting to die.

Here's a picture of a branch that accidentally broke off from one of the cuttings while I took her out of the tube, I put her in wet soil right away and I have high hopes she will grow roots as well (notice the root at the top of the cutting )

you got it from maya right? I got one from them also two weeks ago looks the same like mine. mine has grown about 4 centimeter since I got it, but it still produces those small leaves.

Yes, I talked to Space about Aza being out of cutting for months and that I was looking for one. Then he mentiond he asked you where you got it and 24 hours later, I was in the possession of two cuttings

Weird that they grow new small leaves though. Do you have them in plastic bags? I intent to put them in a green house sometime the coming weeks to give them more space.

why didn't you make other cuttings from the cuttings?
as they were forming roots, it would have been very easy to multiply your number of plants...

I already doubled the number of plants I had so I am happy enough with those. I also killed my super Salvia plant six months ago which produced leafes up to 40cm (see pic). I killed her because I stressed her just a little too much. I figured, let's be happy with these four plants I have now. One of them has eight main branches, if I allow her to grow, there is a possibility for many cutting anyway.

hey hearhcore, how are your cuttings doing at the moment? mine are branching like hell! and finally there are some bigger leafs, the biggest at the moment are about a 2 euro coin, previously the biggest leaf was about the size of a 1 euro cent
