Hyperspace Troubles

Hey guys, I've been browsing this forum ever since my friend extracted some DMT from some MHRB last week, and I like it quite a bit.

My friend has an issue - without a scale it's hard to tell how much spice has been extracted. It's extremely white after only one wash - almost opalescent - quite beautiful to look at. Putting some in a light bulb vaporizer has yielded some really nice visuals for my friend, but he can't seem to make it to hyperspace.

If anyone here is experienced with the light bulb technique, is there something he's doing wrong? A normal lighter will liquefy the goods rapidly and create smoke after a little bit, but he can never seem to vaporize the whole load. An odd effect during his attempts is that if the lighter is held in the bottom dead center of the bulb, the liquefied spice seems to run away from the heat, creating a ring of liquid that never seems to smoke. After the bulb cools down, there is always recrystallized product lining the inside of the bulb, indicating a great deal is wasted each time. Also, he finds the smoke pretty easy to handle, almost pleasant even - most people seem to think it's very harsh. Could this just be due to the purity?

The batch is quite fluffy, would naphtha recrystallization aid him in his journey? Should a different lighter be used? Should he heat the bulb for a much longer time to ensure proper vaporization?

He's been through a lot of his first extraction already and is dying to experience true hyperspace. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well, I have some experience with the Eagle Bill pipe and I can tell you, it's not easy.
You have to try to evenly heat up the whole pipe so the ring problem doesn't occur (very much).
The smoke is better to handle because little actually gets vaporised during the process.
Sometimes I get a lot of smoke, but still I think a lot gets wasted.
Last few times I rolled it in a sigaret (rolling tabacco)
That worked quite well, you just have to make sure there's an ashtray or area very near where you can drop it when you launch into hyperspace.

The opaque crystals sound prety pure . Recrystalising and then washing with 12% amonia does good . Dont heat the crystals to directly and to much . Keep your flame small and the lightbulb moving . Heat parts where no crystals are and then let the liquid run onto the hot spots and it evaporates faster .

He stumbled onto this method after several tries, noticing that heating around the bottom in a circular motion caused the liquid to pool at the bottom. However, the liquid just kind of stayed liquid, not creating much smoke at all. Perhaps he just needs more patience.

The crystals were ammonia washed once before any attempts at hyperspace, removing all traces of yellow. My friend will try recrystallizing sometime soon.

My opinion is that it's the technique, not the crystal.

(Also, I'd never smoke anything out of a light bulb, but that's off topic.)

just get a small sidecar bubbler at a local gas station ( here in the US at least)
put a screen in it, then put your DMT. the light bulb method is actually pretty dangerous. the coating on the inside of the lightbulb can kill you, and may actually be contributing to his inability to reach hyperspace.

try an open piece, bubblers are nice, but anything will work.

if interested try rolling a joint with some salvia, and sprinkle your dose of DMT at the lit end of salvia. double dose of crazy psychotropic entheogens... you wanted a journey, give it a try.
