With special MEGA thanks to JosVU from the forum for providing a cutting last fall.

Had some issues with her over the past months. First of all, Entheo Bakta (sometimes on this forum) almost killed her (not on purpose!) during his visit. Imagine a young, fragile cutting flying through the air and landing behind a bed. She survived without a problem though.

Then I got browning of the leaves and started to experiment with fertilizer (little less) and the PH of the water. Eventually, the brown spots didn't become any bigger and some of them where like if they where healing.

Then I got edges becoming pale and I started to add a little more fertilizer which solved that as well.

She is now over 80cm's high, the largest leave is about 30cm (without the stem) and a lot of new growth is developing in the 'armpits' of the leaves.

I intent to cut her down a bit this spring and take a few cuttings but I have no intention to completely harvest her, she is just so beautiful :)

Love & peace all
HC

Beautiful indeed! Can't wait to see her in real life again.

holy cr*p 80 cm on one year???? o_O

So how big are those leaves? I recently got a salvia plant, and haven't tried it yet. I want to use the quid method, but don't know how many leaves to pull from my plant.

When I got the plant less than a year ago, the leaves were on average 6 inches long from the stem, and had brown tips... (you can see the small stalk in the center, back, which was the original plant)

I put the plant into a soiless medium and have been giving it pro bloom / pro grow fertilizers. Three or four new stalks shot up in less than a year, totaling over 4 feet of growth, and now some of the leaves are about 14 inches long from the stem (which is also about an inch thick, for about 1.5 feet tall - the stalk on the right of the picture).

So, my question is, how big on average are your leaves, and how many leaves do you need to have a good quid?

I've attached a picture; for reference, the pot is about 12 inches across (diameter) pot.

I do not see any beauty in Salvia Divinorum plant! Maybe it's look nice for so exotic plant in household environment. But by itself plant is like side road weed ("bad plants like allergy weed")
I only like her flower! This is something beautiful!
BUT CAN YOU ALL AGREE WITH ME THAT SALVIA ISN'T SOMETHING SPECIAL IN SIZE, LOOKS, SHAPE OF LEAFS AND SO ON LIKE CANNABIS PLANT!

Beauty feelings are coming from exotic origin of plant and her power!
PLEASE TELL ME AM I WRONG!?

HeartCore can you tell me how much time plant needs to acquired such size from small cutting like one with 4 leafs and two more merging out? :?:

:?:

Its modesty is precisely what is so awesome about it though ;) It looks like a common house plant or garden plant, smells sorta like spice, grounds up practically indistinguishable from certain common spices..

It's nice to know that if an evil ban ever does go through around here, Lady Salvia will still be all right (even though my time with Salvia is over, for the present moment anyway).

:)

Why you end (for now) with Salvia? Anesthetic experience? Bum on floor or maybe so scary and weird trip with hard impact so you today have nightmares and think on day time bout it???? :?:

I have asked madded and dramatic (vampire) question?!!

Hey Goran,

I had some great success with Salvia initially. It is I think a very challenging plant to use well, and you kind of have to devote yourself to uncovering its secrets. During my most successful period, I used salvia exclusively as the only entheogen I was doing. I had some amazing smoked trips combined with music, and one pretty awesome quid method trip as well. Nothing as visual as the trips some people describe--by the time I start getting open eyed visuals i often just black out or something--but still intense trips with auditory hallucinations and closed-eye visuals where I felt connected to spiritual entities and imaginary creatures, transformed into animals, etc. It was fascinating.

Then I just couldn't get into the headspace anymore, and my trips just started to suck. Then it just kept happening. Physical discomfort feeling like I was burning or on fire. And the last time I did a salvia trip, the visuals just felt empty, ugly, even gaudy (like ugly Vegas-ish neon signs). I actually felt like Salvia was telling me to stop. That for whatever reason I was being barred entry into Salvia-land.

The clincher for me was that I got absolutely no personal insights out of any of my trips. I get far more personal insight out of meditation, or for drugs, out of a hash trip, or acid.

Also after months and months of waiting I finally had access to my other favorite psychedelics so I just moved on.

I'm absolutely sure I will revisit lady salvia again when the time is right, but not for the moment..

Beauty is culturally defined. If you let culture dictate too much what beauty is, you won't get laid a lot ;)

Have you ever been near a Salvia plant? Seen it grow? Looked really close at the leaves? Admired the square stem with the round hole? Noticed how great it is at propagating from cuttings?

Etc....

Any plant that grows, is beautiful, period! :D
