when i was in europe i noticed that unless u had more than a travel visa , u could only spend money and not make it. unless it was blackmarket. england seemed the most strict about this . this trip i took was before the european economic community opened the borders though. does anyone know how hard it is for an american to get the "right papers" to be able to work legit in europe?????? usually u can only stay for up to 3 months in any one country , is that still the case ???

Yes its still the same , and i like the way you put it . Anyone who wants to live here needs a residents / work permit , and you only get those if you can prove you have an adress and a job . After that you are free and can wander around when and where you want and dont have any trouble with big brother any more .
