"but doesn't counter what the site nazis have written"

Maybe not for nazis but for people who arent biased it does . The nazis said women have nothing to say , the film proves otherwise .The nazis say that christians cant build churches and are in danger , the film proves that thats not true . The nazis say there is no freedom opf speach or freedom of thought , the film proves that there is , exept in the american controlled saudia arabia . The nazis sugest that islam , is the koran and that the fanatics are the ones that have the say , the film proves otherwise . The nazis sugest that there is no freedom in islamic countrys and that the sharia dominates peoples lives in islamic countrys , the film proves other wise . I cant be bothered to read my other posts in this thread on the subject but i think i said that some of the things i said it says it doesnt say directly but it does indirectly .

The fanatisism had nothing to do with age either it had to do with fanatics , and most of that fanatisism has to do with US foreign policy .

Please dont try to turn this thread into an endless meaningless blah , blah like the nazi threads are .

GOD a dit:
The nazis said women have nothing to say , the film proves otherwise .
You say the nazis said "women have nothing to say", but is that what the nazis really said? It's better if you quote rather than paraphrase, because you have a tendency to twist meanings and blow things out of proportion.

The nazis say that christians cant build churches and are in danger , the film proves that thats not true .
The film doesn't show any organization trying to get a permit for the building of a new church. Everyone knows there are many ancient churches in the region, and that they are respected, but we were talking about building new churches, Christian (or Buddhist etc.) schools and preaching centers, and not just in the regions shown in this movie.

The nazis say there is no freedom opf speach or freedom of thought , the film proves that there is , exept in the american controlled saudia arabia .
The film doesn't prove it, is just shows examples. Besides, the man was on the road for 9 months, and we just saw one and a half hours of that...

The nazis sugest that islam , is the koran and that the fanatics are the ones that have the say
No, that hasn't been suggested at all. You're misrepresenting that entire discussion here.

The nazis sugest that there is no freedom in islamic countrys and that the sharia dominates peoples lives in islamic countrys , the film proves other wise .
The nazis suggest that some of the fundamental tenets of Islam are antithetical to modern concepts of freedom. That has nothing to do with people living more or less free lives in their local communities and families.

This film doesn't disprove anything, it just confirms what we've known all along: the USA has created an enormous mess with their wars for oil and their support of Israel. That's an important message, and I dig the movie in that regard.

that's not true.

I have a muslim friend - but well, he is as much muslim as I am christian. Let's say we both have our religion on paper, but that's about it. I really believe that this is the reason we can be friends.

People are always talking about "moderate Christians" and "moderate Muslims" and that they can be friends. Maybe they can, but for me these are not religious people. If they really believed in their religion they couldn't be moderate.
If I was a deeply religious Christian how could I be friends with a muslim without trying to convert him? Same for him! Eventually one of us would be successful, or we'd be killing each other at some point.

The pope is showing signs of fundamentalism in the catholic church, because he understands that being religious means being fanatic about it. What's the point in being half-assed religious? That's nothing at all. Either you're a believer and then you need to be a fanatic, or you stand up and say religion is bullshit and be an intelligent person.

I think there are many people out there who consider themselves to belong to a certain religeous group but dont acept the oficial dogma . For instance catholics who dont acept the undenyable fanatism and political intentions of the pope . That doessnt mean that they are not catholics and being a catholic doesnt mean one has to be as evil and bigoted as the pope .

+1

Religion and the church are as different as love and a wank

The Church created religion.
Spirituality is something else.
Spirituality is not religion and has no church.

Wow ! There were churches before there was religeon ? And religeous people who go to church arent spiritual ?

You guys say the same thing in different words. I like the terms mysticism and dogma myself, as it can be applied to field outside of religion as well.
