Amount smoked: One bowel (about one good pinch of 40x)
Lighter used: Butane torch.
Pipe used: Standard tobacco-like pipe.
After holding in the smoke for about 25-30 seconds (I usually let it out when I start to feel the heavy effects coming on) I entered the world of Salvia.
I've recently been having similar Salvia trips-- Images of white fences, street cones, cars and people walking. Sometimes I'll try to give myself a thought, such as 'Bunny' or something random and happy. Most of the time Salvia has control over my thought, so telling myself what I want to visualize is purposeless and quite a defeatist action of the Salvia experience; this time, however I gave myself a thought of rabbits and I visualized a spinning round table- 'wallpapered', if you will with hopping rabbits, and cartoon-like clouds with cars going though them.
A man appeared to me (he was sitting on the spinning table, minding his business.) and he spoke to me. He took one good look at me and said, "Oh hell no, I'm so out of here" and he got off the spinning rabbit-table and walked out some window.
The visual changed to a beautiful garden with rows of pink cheery trees, the wind blowing gently over them. (I've noticed that most of my Salvia trips are very cinematic. It's as if there's a camera panning to different places and such. I remember laughing at the man who left. I kept saying to myself, 'My hallucination got pissed off at itself and left." It's not as funny now as it was then, but I had quite a pleasant experience with what I'd call pure laughter, or the laughter you get when Salvia is in your system.
Things I've noticed or don't like about Salvia:
+The feeling of being very hot, or your face being 'pulled' by a rhythmic pulse/heartbeat.
+Music becomes annoying, and almost ruins an experience. Hence, it's better to do it in quiet.
+Any air hitting your body, like a fan, or from a vent becomes intense and ruins the experience.
+The direction your face and eyes point is the direction of which the visual takes place. It's best to lay facing up on a bed, blanket on the lower half of your body.
+If you decide to place your hands behind your head, your fingers will start to slip and ruins the experience. The same is said if you inner-lock your fingers at all (whether it be on your chest, or behind your head)
I've noticed that the best way to achieve a good Salvia experience is to lay facing up, hands resting either on your side, or on your chest, fingers not inner-locked. Make the room dark (Only have natural sunlight coming in though either drapes or blinds that are lowered.) turn off all fans, phones and any sort of device that makes any sort of noise. If you choose to accompany your experience with music, it's best to choose ambient music. Sigur Ros has a wonderful, unique sound that makes the experience very pleasant. It's best to choose a track, or song that does not use any drums, or harsh sounds. Even the calm-tempered band Mogwai uses drums and piano in their songs. Even though piano is a beautiful instrument, it's still too harsh (for me at least) to accompany the experience. Very slow violin, or any string instrument works best.
A Salvia theory:
Very little is known about Salvia. I'm not sure what part of the brain it bonds with, or activates for one to start a trip. I'm not sure either if any research has come up with an answer to it; however, I've noticed Salvia is much like a wave. It goes from your eyes (producing strong visuals) then to your body, and all around again. Whenever the 'force' of Salvia is by your eyes, visuals are stronger. The only way I can make sense of this to explain it, is to imagine Salvia as an invisible spirit (as crazy as it sounds) that dances all around your body until your system bounces back and returns to normal after 5-8 minutes. I know scientifically this sounds absurd. Salvinorum A/B bonds with something in the brain, which causes the trip. However, Salvia is a very spiritual, which is why I think (as odd as it sounds again) once Salvia is held in the lungs and the trip begins, it's almost as if the Salvinorum A/B summons a spirit, which dances over your body. I sometimes picture this spirit as a Native American doing a traditional dance-- chanting, moving his legs in a bouncing manner, bells, or chimes attached to his pants. I know how ludicrous and odd this sounds, but that's almost what the 'wave' effect is like.
