first time san pedro

i have a 12" cutting from a san pedro.

first, how can this be easily stored for a few days until im ready to prepare it? will anything happen to the precious alkaloids if i just put it in a zip lock bag in a dry, dark place for a few days?

and also, this should be a solid dose of mescaline for one person, right? this will be my first time trying mescaline. how long is the come-up? and will i probably purge during that time?

you are best not puting it in a bag. leave it to breathe but in a cool dark place.

it takes [me] over an hour and less than 2 to come up on san pedro. ive never purged on it but all but one time ive eaten it dried. i dont really mind the taste. best have an empty stomach just in case though.

That's the easiest way to do it, it's basically gonna boil down in to a sludge, just grab a spoon and go at it, I haven't tried it myself, (I tried to do an a/b to 2feet of Pedro and messed it up) but I hear it's hard to stomach. Best of luck.

Slice it to 0,3cm(0,11") thick pieces.
One other thing, "buttons"-"slices" are best if they are chopped to half. U don't make slices but half of slices ("normal slice would be shaped like star but half is like triangle").
Cook slices minimally 3 hours in water (1-1,5 liter). This is prime and very old way of preparation.
S.Indian way in Peru with San Pedro cacti. Light fire under dixy, without big boiling and liquid evaporation.
Cause of that evaporation El' Bruho (witch doctors or shamans) use 2-3liter(instead of 1-1,5l) of water to substitute lost liquid and they also mix HOLY PEDRO CURING-ATONEMENT POTION with some Datura leafs, Coca leafs, local "MJ", snakes-frogs-toads-scorpions-ants(all kind of insects).

Also Special "dirt or clay-mud" rich with every know human-usable mineral(mined near-relatively hot lakes or steams) with highly potent substitutive power for lost essential elements trough whole night ceremony (sweating-cramps-throwing-diarrhea-sickness-bitter taste)which are also essential for "frayed-out mind" or psydelic hangover.
This is why El' Bruho can and use San Pedro el Peyote 2times per week. Talking now bout tolerance???? Cacti has huge difference in such question from other entheogens. WHY? Hard to give answer from me.
I think that other details like religion, way of using, why, ceremony, additives, spirits and just only calling of witch doctor intervenes in it. WHAT U THINK MEMBERS?

To original poster, look for the movie Taboo: Drugs and they show a shaman preparing the san pedro and doing the entire ritual, it's pretty cool.

This is why I asked for someone else to post again my idea of voyage to Peru!
It's pointless to me that I ask every time members to road trip.
Next, U do not need big amounts of cash! Peru and Lima are cheap country and city. Maybe Lima is somewhat more expensive then outer parts of state but shit!, there's a lot's of militia and guerrilla! Guys living Castro and Che Guevara dream of some kind socialistic utopia. Poor buggers.
We would discus this matter later, first thing is when we should go?
What U need? Very easily! Save 50€ each month until August-October. Peru is on south hemisphere and spring time begins then. It's pretty warm in lower planes cause equator isn't far away. I do not want to evaporate on summer sun(November-January).
600€ until 8th month in year + some extra money from firm or parents (summer vocation or excursion). And thats it! U have enough for 3 months over there! Also U will live like "God" with such cash depletion! Life is really cheap over there! Also we can gather round before here in Europe and reserve air tickets 6 months upfront. Doing this can lower ticket price near or more then 50% of their normal price! Planing, only planing!

I SERIOUSLY doubt you can just eat it like a fruit. And to Goran, 6 months I'd prolly be good! I'm still recovering from surgery untill Nov3 until I can return to work and make money and I couldn't stay for more than 2 weeks, so lets do this, us in the states could make arrangments as well! I really like this idea, I would really really really really love to practice one of the rituals down there, although I'm not sure if I could go through with the purging part, sniffing the perfume/tobacco mix, but I guess couldn't be worse than like... meth? Anyways lets ACTUALLY DO THIS! I'll try and find the last thread you started.

im just worried about this because he only uses water.... i thought you need to atleast use like lemon or orange juice or something to really get the alkaloids out of the plant material?

or will just boiling the plant material in water really do it??

lemon juice (acid) makes it slightly more soluble but by the time youve processed it and strained it you will have almost all in the water. you sould do a second extraction on the pulp just to be sure

I'm a minimalist. So you have a length of fresh SP ...

1. Clip off the spine nodes (Electric wire clips work well for this).
2. Slice the cactus lengthwise (down to the hard core) along each rib. Slice the spaces between ribs lengthwise as well.
3. There is a thin waxy layer covering the outside of the cactus, like an epidermis. Peel off the waxy layer. This can be done with a thin knife and fingers. Use your imagination. Be careful not to pull off the green flesh - alkaloids are concentrated in the green layer. If you pull off any green flesh, separate it and eat it.
4. Each time you finish stripping the waxy layer from one of the lengthwise sections, pull the section out and eat it. Chase it with juice if you don't like the taste.
5. By the time you have finished stripping and eating the entire length of cactus, you will probably be starting to feel some effects, if your stomach was fairly empty to start.

Eating the cactus slowly from 1/2 to 1 hour, as you strip it, should keep you from becoming bloated. Don't bother eating any of the dense fiber at the center.

Ta da. I've *never* felt any nausea, or vomited, doing it this way. Enjoy!

Alkaloid amounts vary from one SP to another. That said, a 12" cutting should yield a fairly mild trip. Probably a good starting point with SP cactus, to begin understanding it ...

Get 30 inch or something. 12" is literally treshold. If you want something that guarantees identity lose over 50 inch is required. But remember that unlike other psychedelics, this wizard may be for life...

Dry the entire cactus in front of the fan in very small pieces. Remove the skin carefully and STERILE! It might take a few weeks to dry all the material. Once you have done it repeately for enough material swallow the parts with juice as a breakfast, it might take hours or half a day to eat it all. And it might take 6 hours to 8 hours before EVERYTHING is absorpted. Don't ever PUKE! Relax, the cramps are abnormally and horribily long lasting. Go through it! Despite the sickness and drowsiness, too.

If possible, go to take a nap...

This is something which you do rarely, and you'll understand why, once you've done it properly.

It's basically just dried raw plant material.

But once you have removed the skin, it takes A LONG time before everything is dry. You'll have to do this in phases or with more fans.

I had the fan running for an entire month day and night before before I had 70 cm San Pedro waterless. The big cactus turned into relatively a very small volume.

The cramps were extreme 7 hours, like my stomach had to pick up wood blocks. Once this were over, the wonderful hours lasted a good 12 hours, and over the next 6 hours it was reduced to the after glow.

The tender glow lasted the entire next day, with closed eyes, there were still moments in where imagination got more realistic. But nothing unpleasant, a flawless fresh start of life.

The light blue morning sky, with the sun and flying birds were seen as crystal clear water. Shaking my head caused diamonds in my sight. Visuals were more colourful and deeper than shrooms or acid, but less than smoked DMT.

At the peak, my body was experienced almost the same size as my head when I was sitting. When getting up out of this position I had to remind how to get up balanced since I couldn't make an estimation through gravity. And every step caused a stream of visions within my imagination, and froze to a standing statue, painting imagination before walking further.

Words were directly seen as images, and images were melting into words without any effort. The sounds of music, melted very slowed untill they totally muted. The deep relaxtion of a dream-like state is as fresh as the dark green jungle. Everything that came into sight was seen in a state of extraordinary astonishment. I'd look at it with a blank speechless face, feeling perfectly sane.

It taught me what true tenderness and softness is. Considering I hadn't even consumed anything that comes closes to an heroic dose.

You said 12" were merely threshold dosis. You know you were talking about inches here, not centimeters? 12" (=inches) is 30.5cm which should be a moderate dose if the cactus is good. I have had one 40cm trip that I thought was pretty strong, like in the 4g dried shrooms range strong (so, not extreme, but quite something!)
It always depends on the cactus you got - I always got my 30-40cm pieces from 1meter cuttings, because these are older and usually more potent.
