FAE, can an aquarium water pump be used as an air pump?

swim knows absolutely nothing about aquariums or aquarium equipment, but swim has a recirculating water pump thats used with his condenser and was wondering if they can be used as an air pump so he can pair it with bubblers to automate FAE for the terrarium?

he assumes you can use an aquarium air pump as a water pump because they're not supposed to be submerged? but can a water pump be used as an air pump or would they burn up or something?

No worries,swip uses aquarium pumps for humidifying system,paired with a hermetical box and aquarium heater,but u say "aquarium air pump as a water pump"that confused me,if u mean aquarium water pump as air pump,than everything will work fine.But keep mind on the pump power,there are cheaper ones that suck badly and the amount of air isn'tenough.

this is a fairly old question, but it startles me. Using an aquarium water pump for air? I've used aquarium water pumps for water-cooling computer systems, and they were all useless for pumping air. Absolutely useless! You won't even get a huff out of such a pump, you have to immerge them in water before they start doing anything - even a little air inside the pump makes them useless. Just open such a pump and look at the design - you can see with the naked eye it won't move any air.

What produces a good airflow for little money is a 12V computer-case fan. You can get it for a few bucks (much cheaper than a water pump) and it moves a lot of air.
