it was interesting to hear Humphrey Osmond (psychiatrist in the 1960s) saying that before he first took LSD, he only used to think that the things his schizophrenic patients were saying was purely delirious nonsense, then AFTER he experienced LSD, he said he started actually listening to them, and empathising with what they were saying
