... certainly not a perfectly realistic depiction of an ayahuasca ceremony and certainly not of the effects and deepness of the trip - but hey, it's a popular american tv show, for that they are really accurate.
There is not one bad word said about ayahuasca (only the Shaman says the ayahuasca tells him not to give it to Nancy now, but I guess that is a hint for further plot development). The whole depiction is very positive, and in the end Nancy is sitting on the beach realizing she has been lying to herself all the time and she needs to change things in her life.
Although positive, the depiction of ayahuasca is a bit too simple, I guess - it's almost like "you got a migraine - well, take some ayahuasca, have some visuals and bang you're cured an hour later". Oh well, tv always simplifies stuff I guess (you gotta shorten things up to make a 30 minute episode interesting, that's just a necessity)
I just love this show anyways, I've seen every episode and it keeps getting better and better
