Ayahuasca dosage and setting

Hello,

I have found a website that sells Ayahuasca packages and I have a few questions unanswered. First is about dosage; they sell packs of Banisteriopsis Caapi providing you with 100 grams and 50 grams of Psychotria Viridis. I was wondering is that a normal dose; it seems a bit high. Also is about setting; I would like to hear thoughts about setting in your own home or with a shaman in Brazil.

When people talk about an ayahuasca experience, they usually refer to having taken the substance in the company of an ayahuascero, generally in a group setting. I have never 'done ayahuasca' that way (yet). I have taken it at home a couple of times, with the common setting for mushrooms: silence and darkness. During my last ayahuasca experience I tried to listen to a CD containing icharos, but it just got on my nerves.

yeah, i say go big or go home. personally id stick with mimosa hostilis root bark, and the caapi. use something like 12-20G of mimosa in a brew with say 20-30G caapi also.

as for setting, at home would be good. a comfortable place. make sure when your preping for the trip that you have a chilled out room, some music, drinks, and a toilet. the room and toilet are a must. i figure about 80% of the time i "do aya" i puke(untill the last couple trips, where i learned some breathing patterns, and some other anti nausea techniques) and when you decide your starting to trip too hard to function, if you have a chillin room you can have a very intense trip. i find the trips in my room were the most personal and intense. but yeah, be ready for anything, my friend thought he was Super Mario jumping around pwning bad guys.

I`d say that 50 g of chacruna is a good strong dose if its a good product . Some people like to start with 30 gramms and work their way up especialy if they do it alone .

That's right, brew it all, then drink about half or more if you like and in an hour and a half or so see if you want to drink the rest as well.
As for setting, I did it only once, at home in a darkened room with some very peaceful music, you can ofc turn it off if you rather have silence
I also burned some incense and had a nice place to lay down.
The only thing I could recommend very thoroughly is you should do it in the (late) evening
Even though it was dark in the room, the mood and mindset are different in the middle of the day then the more mystical one in the evening IMO
And maintain a proper diet and abstianance from sex from the day before until the day after I'd recommend as well
To me it was an amazing experience, I wish you the same!

Thank you for all your responses. I still haven't decided if I feel comfortable at home doing it verus with a shaman. My Uncle is an avid Ayahuasca drinker(every 2 weeks at least, sometimes more), and he tells me to wait until I have the oppourunity to drink it with him/a shaman.

If i were you i would do it with your uncle . He sounds and looks realy cool . I think because of the trust between you , how long you know him and his experience you would have a perfect start . Why not tell him you think you are ready and ask him to do it with you = make a date .


And tell us what happens please .

Well he does it in a group and he lives far from me. I will be moving out close to him for University in September. The group that they have is really tight and they all know each other very well for good reasons. He brought his girl friend when I was down there for our road trip, and she had to go to a bunch of dinners and meet with all the group members so everyone is familar with her and she is familar with them. They don't just let anyone walk in and drink. They only like people interested in the spritual experience that Ayahauasca provides and would rather not have people there that have other intents.

Maybe if you ask him now but tell him you arent in a hurry maybe he can get some and do a session with just you and him .

I'll see what I can do. But I decided I am going to wait until my time comes. Even if I have to wait a couple of years until my first Ayahacsua experience; what is the rush anyways? Thank for you advice everyone, and GOD!
