Firstly, you must note that Artemisia absinthium does not dry. I figure it's the oils on the surface of the leaf which keeps it from drying out.
Secondly, the noticeable effects when smoked are very minimal. I've experimented several times with Artemisia, thinking I had a resistance against it. Each time, I got the same result: bare nothing. Even if you were to soak it in alcohol, let it dry and smoke it, or make tea-- the effects would be largely due to the alcohol, not the chemicals in the plant.
On the flip side, smoking pure Artemisia does have some noticeable effects. They are not strong, but it's much similar to drinking tea. It's not as strong as say, nicotine, but it's something. I believe it has to be studied further-- perhaps something in the roots of the plant vs. the leaf, or stem of the plant would produce some more gratifying effects.
When smoked with Cannabis, or after-- the effects are similar to Kratom and cannabis, only very light. It's barely noticeable unless you know you just smoked it.
I'm not even sure if the rumors about the plant are true. There is, however something very intriguing about the plant. I have yet to find any drastic effects from it.
Has anyone else experimented with this plant? Did you have drastic results? What were they like? I'd very much like to know what other people have done here.
(If all else fails, it make a lovely air freshener.)
