It just popped to my mind, mostly because I have read up islamese these days. So like we all know, alcohol in that religion is haram (prohibited, illegal) but how about cannabis and nature's joys?

In my view, tobacco, caffeine, cannabis, lsa, mushrooms etc. that are found directly from nature are created by God and therefore good for you, especially those that don't affect negatively to your health (cannabis at most).

If there is any really islamese, I would like to know what you think about that matter?

Peace.

Anything that interferes with the clear functioning of the mind is prohibited by Islam. This includes alcohol and intoxicating drugs. Alcohol is prohibited either as a beverage or in food preparation; thus pure vanilla and other extracts pose a problem, as do mouthwashes with alcohol.

In my class a couple of years ago there where two guys with Turkish roots and they where muslim. They didn't even smoke cigarettes, never drank, nothing. We respected that although we didn't quite understand it. There are not as much true catholics as true muslims, be sure of that!

Hi, very interesting post! im a muslim myself and when my parents came to find out about my psychedelic activities the punishment was so painful that I ve been seing stars all over!!! I dont think that a christian who does drugs is a bad christian just like a muslim who doesnt do drugs is not necesseraly a good muslim. The fact is that over the past 2 thousand years christianisme has quite much modernized where ase islam has kept itself pretty conservative. I give you an extrem example: if you go to a church and say "I'm satanist :demon:" the priest would most likely tell you "its your choice an I respect it" wich would not have been the case in earlier days. But if you go and say such a thing in a mosque in a muslim country, you take the risk to be beaten up to death :violence: like in the earlier days with christianism (for example: cruisades).
To be fervant to your religion you must 1st of all strongly believe in it and I dont think that doing drugs is the worst crime you can do against your religion. It is bad, thats true but somewhere you dont really harm any1 else than yourself (or your family in extrem cases). The message i'm trying to pass is: BE TOLERANT. I have lots of respect to those muslims who dont use drugs and I dont expect them to have understanding for me but at least to exept me the way I am and to mind there own business. same for christians.
Hope this could answer all of your questions. PEACE

Rotting fruits naturally produce alcohol - is it also good for you? Also there are a lot of highly dangerous poisonous plants and/or heavily psychoactive/psychologically dangerous plants like belladonna (also called the "deadly nightshade").

Also, if you really believe in god, is there any substance that is not made by him? I mean, when humans extract cocaine from coca leaves, god must have known that humans can easily do this...
IMO if there is a god, then everything that exists is endorsed by him - all "good" and "bad" labels are made up by humans...

So true! If he didn't wanted us to have certain things, he wouldn't have given them to us.
