    Did you know..

What backwoods anatomy book have you read? You don't see through your iris! Your iris controls the size of your pupil, the iris is the colored part (brown/green/blue/hazel) part of the eye. The part of your eye that actually "sees" is your retina. The retina has blood vessels that rest between...

Are you familiar with the Dosage Calculator?

German grammar doesn't dictate species naming. The genus is capitalized and the species is not. Examples; Homo sapiens, Copelandia cyanescens. The names of people, places and proper names should be capitalized. Species names should not be. Its called "binomial nomenclature" and its the same in...

Psilocybe semilanceata does NOT grow in AZ. It is a temperate mushroom. The only mushrooms you'll be finding in AZ are Gymnopilus junonius, Gymnopilus sapineus and Panaeolus subbalteatus. Here's a Gymnopilus sapineus I found here in Washington a few days ago. Panaeolus subbalteatus would...

Rye / barley as substrate in PF tek

I can't be of much help without a picture to look at or more info. Whenever I have jars that stall its usually do to bacterial contamination. Depending on the type of bacteria sometimes the mycelium won't even try to colonize the infected part. When using grains a good way to check for...

Rye / barley as substrate in PF tek

The inside of a jar is always warmer than the air outside of it. Mycelium produces heat while it grows. Mycelial death begins at 106f. The higher the temp after 106f increases and the longer its hot will kill more mycelium. Thermal stress starts at about 90f. When stressed enough the mycelium...

Some cubensis strains such as Puerto Rican are noticeably harder to get to pin. On the good side though its one of the fastest colonizers I've seen next to South American and Redboy. I'd suggest getting B+ or Ecuador for the beginner. Spores101 is a good vendor but I prefer sporeworks.

Can psilo be a crystalized alkaloid?

using a ziplock bagy full of steril substrate for casing???

Get pint sized jars and fill them with hydrated popcorn or rye and leave about 2 inches of room. Then pressure cook them 1.5 to 2 hours. After they cool inject your spores just like a PF cake. When mycelium covers 25% of the jar give it a good shake. Allow it to colonize 100%. When fully...

A cheap and ghetto way to turn your clear container into a dark container is to wrap it in duct tape. This will block out enough light to make them grow straight up. The thing I hate most is that most containers have colored lids. If your are doing one big casing then make sure to get a very...

He brought them back to life in a sense. The spores were basically dead. By putting the spores on venom agar the venom broke down the spore walls so their nucleus was exposed. my colonized cakes.

    1. You do need info on how to grow them. It seems you aren't doing it right. 2. This is called fresh air exchange. Would...

Cyanescens grow here around the same time. They grow here once the temps drops below 17C. The thing you forgot to mention is that they respond to the drop in temperature. Once it hits 18C they start to grow until it frosts like you said. I was assuming you meant they would grow simply by it...

First of all you need to get your sterile techniques down. I'd say buy a spore syringe from a vendor to start. That way you know you spores are good. 4 months isn't old for spores. Spores will normally last at the very least 1 year, they often last many years. Jars should be kept at around...

Psilocybin cannot be a freebase. It is a zwitterion. A zwitterion (first part pronounced "tsvitter", from German "Zwitter" — "hybrid," "hermaphrodite") is a chemical compound that is electrically neutral but carries formal positive and negative charges on different atoms.[1] Zwitterions are...

Can psilo be a crystalized alkaloid?

You could slowly evaporate the alcohol until only the crystals are left. Usually it ends up as an oily looking mess. You could "wash" the stuff once its dry with a solvent that psilocybin is NOT soluble in. I'll use xylene as an example. I can't remember if psilocybin is soluble in xylene or...

my mushroom is growing down towards the perlite..Pics up now

You don't use perlite to grow mushrooms. I mean you don't use perlite in the cakes. Perlite is used to line the bottom of the fruiting chamber to add humidity to the chamber.

Can psilo be a crystalized alkaloid?

A very easy way of extracting psilocybin/cin using alcohol is as follows. Get some HIGH proof alcohol. 75% alcohol or higher. Can psilo be a crystalized alkaloid?

Why would you convert psilocybin to psilocin? When you ingest it your body does it for you. Psilocybin is MUCH more stable than psilocin. Converting the psilocybin to psilocin would only speed up its degradation.
  57. BlimeyGrimey

    my colonized cakes.

Cold shocking cubensis IS pointless. This is a technique that is used on species which NEED a cold shock to fruit. Many edible species need a cold shock or they won't pin. How this technique started getting used for cubensis is beyond me. Dunking a cake cannot be compared to waterboarding a...

    my colonized cakes.

Psilocybe cyanescens isn't easier to grow than cubensis. It is extremely hard to grow cyanescens indoors. They require a low temp to fruit, around 50 degrees.
