I like world press photos for what they do.
The photos are real and it tells the naked truth undespite how shocking it is.

A single photo/image can tell so much more then words ever could.

quite shocking...
don't crucify me for what i am about to say, but nothing shocks me more than to see dead animals. i once ran over a cat with my car and i cried so much...it was night and i didn't saw him. i'm not so shocked to see the little bits of human bodies, though.
but it is shameful, the hatred inside that pictures. hatred of the human beings towards everything.

If you're interested in press photography, you must see "War Photographer" -
a documentary about world famous photographer James Nachtwey.
It's way beyond just watching a foto (which is disturbing enough). To see this man at work and start to imagine what he has seen, unbelievable.
