when does salvia begin to lose its potency ?

i bought some salvia extract two years ago (10x), and now, i smoke it and it does not hit me anymore. has the extract lost its potency with age ?
does anyone know anything about this ? how long can i store salvia ? is it fragile to light ? heat ?

I have read that you can store it for a very long time (more than 10 years) without loosing potency!

Pay attention, you have to keep the salvia in a dry, DARK place!!!
It is the light that interacts with the salvinorin!
