if the box gets to much air in the begining is that bad?
i dunno if mine is its got a fist size hole in the corner and theres a crack running through the middle that might be letting more air in

Fist size hole?? That's like half the cake. I got a cake that got too much air before it got to me, it still grew mushrooms to my suprise, just not large flushes.

well, I would try to cover the holes. mine werent growing at the beginning. I think it was because I let to much air in and the humidity didnt stay in. when I covered almost the hole cake, I could watch them growing.

SMILE!

the more clean air they have the more they grow, the problem with too much air is that the humidity fall down

Mushy..do you mean too much air to the kit when you first start growin'..or too much air to the kit before you want it to start growin'??

to much air when i first start growin

Oh..there shouldn't be a problem then. Just try to raise the humidity.

what s the problem ? just put the box in a bucket with 5 mm of sterilized water in it (not in the box , in the bucket) cover the bucket with foil and make a hole like your fist in it ,
then HARVEST AND ENJOY THE MAGIC OF THE NATURE AND GIVE YOUR BRAIN SOME HOLLYDAYS TO SHROOMLAND

I was going to use one of those square plastic containers that you was dishes in (not used of course)... Do you think that would work, or should I just go with a plastic bucket like drganj says?
