Hey freaks. Since its an ayahuasca related topic i decided to post it here, if im wrong just move the topic..
There's an ancient knowledge from the amazon' indians known as the frog's vaccine. Its a frog called 'kampu', a green frog wich is known as one of the most poisonous animals of the Amazon. In our rituals using ayahuasca this knowledge is used and its given to us the frog's vacine, which consists in extracting some poison from the frog's skin and injecting it into our skin. It is said that if you can survive it you get stronger and it heals several illnesess. And you also get high for about 40 minutes, the WORST 40 minutes of your life (nausea, vomits and very weird and frightening hallucinations). There's a story that says master Irineu (the creator of the Santo Daime cult) once was forced to climb a mountain, after 5 days in the jungle and weak. Then his indian partner offered him strenght, and gave him the vaccine. After the bad trip, they forced their way through the mountain in 5 hours, when they were expected to get past it in at least 1 day...

So, as i was saying its part of some ayahuasca rituals within the indians and the religious use of it by the UDV and Santo Daime cults. I wonder if it is used in other places too, like the ayahuasca (which caapi is only grown in the Amazon)

I dont think Santo Daime in Holland will inject anything that you can die from ;)

Interesting story, only thing that comes close to something I know about is the toads with 5 metoxy dmt on them.

I do not think thats the 5-Meo dmt toad
I think I know what frog u mean .. but I just dont know the name :)
and I indeed think that the santo daime in holland will even think about using it here.. cause if people die or get hospitalized .. santo daime will be closed down immediatly

i've read about this before. It is poison for real. They dip a tattoo needle(pointed stick) in the venom and tap it into the skin the more spots they do it the stronger it will be. Scary visions. Diffently something i would not do unlses i was in peru or where ever under a very old and experienced shaman

But even then...the topic starter suggests that surviving it is not guaranteed.

Well I guess IF you do it with an experienced shaman present, at least he will be able to get your soul across without too much of a hassle ;)

Hell, I once went in Equator when I was a lil' child, and I think I remember seeing one of those nice, colorful & soooooooooo pretty frog...

Good thing I was under constant surveillance, this thing looked sooooo much like a candy :D

I don't know what's the name of the substance in it. It's poison, I even heard that it's the most poisonous animal of the Amazon...
Yeah, really scary stuff. If your guide doesn't make it right you could really die. Here in Santo Daime its diluted in some water and then they give it to us. But the indians really make it from the frog still alive, with arrows; It's also used in their arrows to kill animals while hunting.

well I know there is such a toad..
but Caiopro talks about a different "frog"

caiopro, I think you are talking about Phyllomedusa bicolor.

I have seen it beeing used in a documantary that I saw quite a while ago, and thought of it first when i read your post. But it took me a while to find its name. I came acros this page: http://www.amazon-indians.org/page10.html and the frog on the first picture is the same as the one i saw in that documentary (Jungle Trip: Ayahuasca).

I think this frog doesn't have 5-meo dmt. There are some articles discussing its active "ingredients" on erowid (http://www.erowid.org/animals/phyllomedusa/phyllomedusa.shtml), but a bit to complicated for me to understand :(

I thought they were using one of these little fellows:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poison_dart_frog

But sopor is probably right, the description on Erowid sounds like that's the right species!

Btw for those of you who know the Bittorrent program "Azureus", with the blue frog icon - it's named after "Dendrobates Azureus" a blue poison dart frog (I love wikipedia, it teaches me everything I never needed to know!)
